Hi there,

For the last few weeks we have been having a terrible time keeping the

DBB on my son who is 2.5. Last night we went in there 3 times and put

it back on him. It doesn't seem that he is doing it intentionally. At

times it is just while he is sleeping it comes out. He has been

wearing for a year now and his shoes fit great. We have an appointment

for the end of the month with Dr. Carey as we are concerned about his

left foot relapsing. It seems like ti is his right foot that is coming

out at night.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Have you checked the bar length? When the bar is too short the child

has more leverage and can pull his feet out easier, intentionally or

nonintentionally.

Hi ,

Do you have an adjustable bar? If so definately widen it and see if

that helps. We have the gold adjustable bar and grace is set at 13 "

on one side and 14 " on the other, she is 22mos and broad shouldered I

must say lol. If you have a fixed bar, I would call your orthotist

and either get a longer one or better yet, try to get an adjustable

one, makes life so much easier!

Also, over time, the strap can stretch out a bit so you may want to

try doing them up one hole tighter but I suspect that lengthing his

bar will probably be the key.

If he is still pulling out after you try these things, (oh yes and

also the suggestion of the socks with the grippers was great!) make

sure to let us know and we can try to trouble shoot some more ok!!

I took a real quick look at the pics you posted on CFpics and I have

to say what a cutie is :) I do see what you mean about the left

foot....at rest it does turn in a lot more than the right, not that

this is a major indicator for relapse, it's just hard to tell. I know

that you got a response from and I am sure that and

Kori will respond as well. I am just glad that you are getting

in to see Dr. Carey at the end of the month (too bad it wasn't sooner

in my opinion...kinda wondering why you have to wait so long), much

much easier to deal with relapse if it's caught early!

Give that little cutie a squeeze from us!

& Grace 22mos

Aidan started pulling his right foot out of his shoe. I took him back in and

Bud his shoe guy made a little insert in the back of his shoe covered in mole

skin and it solved the problem. Basically, once his foot was firmly in the

shoe, it was sort of a hump that sat on top of the heel so he couldn't slid it

out the back.

Best of luck, Jenn
