Guest guest
Thanks for your response Sheri! Man, I hope it doesn't take 7 weeks of feeling miserable to be normal again! But then, I'm not really miserable now. More frustrated in trying to find foods I like. I've had this unyielding craving for the last few days for some Taco Bell food. Specifically, I would love to dive into a chalupa with a spoon and scoop out the insides. I'll find out tomorrow if I'm able to tolerate that kind of food as I just ordered some mexican food fixins from the on-line grocery store. Of course, I'll make it without all the spices and try just a tiny bit to begin with. Right now that and pizza are the only things that sound good at all and pizza has way too many carbs. It's just hard when things taste good one day and awful the next. Thanks again for your insight! Guest guest
Tracey, I know about the Taco Bell adiction I was doing that last month everyday for lunch I would go and buy the taco salad and eat the inside and throw out the tacos....or I buy a chalupa eat the inside and dump the shell....I am glad I finally got over my " addiction " the taco bell guy thought I had a thing for him and was like " want a free taco baby " ROTFLMAO Lisbeth snurfles@... wrote: Thanks for your response Sheri! Guest guest
LOL Lisbeth! I can just see that happening! I had a thing with a guy who worked at Burger King for awhile. It wasn't where we met but it still felt funny to say I was dating a guy who worked in a fast food restaurant, comsidering I was 35 years old at the time! Guest guest
Hi Tracey: I can totally relate to the Taco Bell cravings! I'm about 3 weeks out and figure tonight is the night! I'm going to have my husband pick up a mexican pizza and we'll see how it goes...I may have to pay the consequences tomorrow morning. The kids had pizza in the house when I was about 10 days post op and I couldn't help myself. I scraped some of the meat, sauce and cheese off of a small portion and had that, and it seemed to be fine. It wasn't much, just about 3 oz, but it definitely took care of my craving! Guest guest
and Tracey, Mike and I had a Mcs cheeseburger when we were 10 days out and the next day had a soft taco from taco bell with some refried beans and cheese....never had a problem with any food after that! Just take small bites and chew well and slow,,,,you should be fine! Hugs, Judie
Guest guest
Hi Judie! You're right! I had refried beans about an hour ago and so far everything is fine. I don't know if I would brave a cheeseburger yet, though. I tried mini corn dogs the other day and though they tasted good, they sat like rocks in my stomach. I'm definitely having real Taco Bell next week! Guest guest
I, who normally hates pizza, ordered a Meatzza pizza and scraped the cheese and meats of a slice of pizza. It was great I used to just love the breadsticks, but I only had one piece and that was more than enough. I don't feel guilty about the breadstick either, since I've been eating only protein pretty much for weeks and I know I need some carbs so I don't go into ketosis. The amazing thing is for those of you that are pre-op is that I didn't want more. Post-ops will understand that while we may have cravings it's not like before where you sometimes eat because it's good, not because you're actually hungry. I plan to try some Taco Bell tomorrow (maybe the chicken quesadilla ?) because I'm tired of egg salad, extremely tired of tuna salad and chicken nuggets (although I found a good brand that's all breast meat instead of the normal pieces parts!) Guest guest
The chicken quesadillas are good, and it has 28 grams of protien! A serving is 6.4 oz., so you probably won't be able to eat the whole thing...I can't anyway. The only drawback is that it has 40 gm. of carbs. (But if your only eating half, and save the other half for the next day, it's ok). 3 gms. of sugar, and 30 gms. of fat. Enjoy!! Guest guest
Yeah! I did have the Mexican Pizza from Taco Bell tonight - just half and I was soooo full. It's strange going to Taco Bell and only spending $2.50 and not being able to finish everything! Usually I'd need the pizza, a couple of taco's, a chalupa - well, you get the picture! So far, so good. My stomach seems to be very happy tonight. Thanks! Guest guest
Someone posted a while back that the really thin crust pizza's seemed to sit okay - that they didn't expand like regular crust. Which means I'll be hunting down some thin crust pizza this weekend. I get these cravings and I go out of my way to get a particular food (it was dim sum the other day) and then when I get there I realize that it's ridiculous because I will only eat a few bites! It doesn't matter though, cuz I feel like I'm totally happy after those few bites and I don't have to obsess like I normally would and I'm a very happy camper! Guest guest
Beth! Aaaargh! Beef supreme chalupa! I want one! I want one! *pant pant pant* Okay, I'm all right now. I don't have a Taco Bell close and my hubby won't let me drive further than the main shopping center so I'll have to wait another week before I have one. But, I did have a yummy turkey, cheese, and avocado sandwich today for lunch. Of course, I ate only 3 inches of it and it took me an hour and a half, but it was soooo good! It's the first NEW food I've tried in a week and it was a definite success!
