We seem to have lists for everything else concerning Autism-does

anyone know of a list that addresses GI problems in kids with

Autism? Any good sources of info regarding this would be appreciated-

I need to know what is going on with my son and don't know how to get

educated (short of flying to the UK to see Andy Wakefield, which,

unfortunately is out). Thanks, Rosie

Check out abmd (autism biomedical). While not limited to GI

problems, the group does discuss this and other health problems of

people with ASD. There are a number of areas to explore (yeast,

diet, anti-virals, detox, secretin, etc.) The DAN protocol manual

from ARI might be a good place to start.

Well, you can visit the enzymesandautism board if you like and see if

there is anything helpful to you:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enzymesandautism

The discussions include pretty much any and all aspects of gut

health, supplements and nutrition. Such things as:

healing leaky gut,

yeast/parasite/bacteria problems,

bowel regularity

magnesium,

sulphation/epsom salts

phenol issues

probiotics

fatty acids

allergies

digestion/malabsorption

diets (GFCF, Feingold, yeast, protein, low sugar, others)

medications

immune system health

autoimmune conditions

neurological health

and just about any other thing else related

It has a very practical, every day approach to biomedical issues.

I tried to find a group for the autoimmunity aspects and can suggest

www.casiquest.com. This is furthing Dr. Wakefields work with viral

issues. There are several state chapters listed there and other links.

The autism-mercury board discussed heavy metals and chelation.

Well there is gut-group although I don't think it is limited to autism.

Lots of autism folks there, though.
