Guest guest
Okay, I know all the statistics about relapsing being high, blah blah blah.... But Lucas has started walking and I was really hoping to be able to cut him back to 14 hrs. Unfortunately Dr. Ponseti said not until Oct and I'm feeling pretty bummed. Of course Oct is only 4 mos away, and 2 extra hours a day really isn't all that much....but still I'm in a funk which makes me feel stupid. I know that every case is different but when I read about others being able to cut back on hours I get a little jealous. Geez- I sound like I'm whining! Does anyone have any advice to kick me out of this? Thanks Jenn
Guest guest
Ummm....no? I'm sorry, I know it's discouraging. In a couple weeks I'll be sending photos for an on-line check up with Garrison hoping for a reduction too. Not sure I'll get it, but I remember once with Everett I was expecting a reduction and didn't get it, boy I was bummed too. Hang in there! s. Still at 16 hrs...... Guest guest
Jenn, Sorry you're feeling bummed about this, will it help if I say " Better Safe Than Sorry? " How old is Lucas now? Sammy was still in his brace 16 hours until around 15 months and I remember feeling the same way when we had our Ortho appt. when he was 12 months. I was so hoping for that reduction but Dr. Dobbs was happy with the way things were going and didn't want to change the hours 'just yet'. So, I guess what I'm saying is that you are not the only one who has been at this point. You just have to know that it is for the best. And it's okay to whine to us, that's one of the reasons we are here! Guest guest
Hi Jenn, Honestly, when Lucas is 2 and running around everywhere and jumping & climbing on everything on his straight lil feet, you will look back and be so happy that you stuck with the bracing like you did!! If the club foot master himself said no then there is a reason for that and the last thing you want to do is take any chances at this point kwim! It really will fly by you'll see, hang in there! & Grace 22mos urcf FAB 12-14hrs > > Okay, I know all the statistics about relapsing being high, blah blah > blah....
