i dont think you need a prescription and it should be by your pharmacy

Jodi

You don't need a prescription for it. It's with the diabetic supplies

at the drug store. You CAN use icing gel from the baking aisle, but

it does not contain as much glucose and is not absorbed quite as

quickly. But in a pinch, that is good, too.

Oh, okay. I guess I misunderstood before then. Thanks for the info as

I will be getting some to have on hand.

Thanks,

Jodi

Jodi,

I was in CVS this evening for a reason I will post in a minute, and I

checked out the glucose gel. They had it in a pack of three tubes for

about $11. There were also chewable tablets, but since we need that

glucose when our kids are not likely to eat/swallow, the gel is much

better. As I said, however, in a pinch, you can use the gel icing.

Thanks Jodi. I will get some of the gel. I'd rather have the glucose

gel since it is absorbed immediately and is better than the icing I am

sure. We have been trying to hold off a little bit more on his

afternoon tube feeds to try to get him to eat more during the day, but

I get nervous that what I give him won't keep his sugar up enough. So,

I like the thought of having some of the gel handy! :o)
