we are on our 3rd day with a Hanger band and so far so good. we have a 7 month

old as well. today he has to wear it for a total of 9 hours and by the end of

the week we will have worked up to the full 23 hours. so far he doesn't seem to

mind it too much. he might get just a tiny bit more irritable than usual, but

he's also about to cut teeth so we're not really sure if it's the helmet or the

teeth! he likes to look at himself in the mirror with it on. i think he thinks

it's funny :)

i was stressed out too, but now that he has it i feel good about it and i feel

good about our decision to band him. we feel like a weight has been lifted

because we know it was a good decision and that our son will appreciate it in

the long run. oh, and it's perfect padding for a little guy learning to move

around! instant baby-proofing!

good luck to you!

I think that having the helmet on is much easier than the anticipation of it!

My son was nearly 9 months when he got his. He did wake up more often at night

during the first week with the helmet, but after that he totally adjusted to it.

It's as normal to him as putting on his socks! I think you'll feel better each

day knowing that you're doing something proactive to help your son. You really

will get used to it (and used to the added attention in public) and the time

will fly. Good luck.
