Guest guest
My 17 month-old daughter has had digestive problems most of her life. I finally convinced them to test her for Celiac. They did the blood test though I know it is not as reliable. Here are the results. Can anyone out there explain them to me. A Ped. gastrointerologist ordered test but I haven't heard from him yet. The regular ped. doesn't understand the results either. Her interpretation was that one was a negative and the other a weak positive. Here goes: GLIADIN IGG/IGA AB PROF, EIA Antigliadin Abs, IgA Negative Neg:<20 Negative <20 Weak Positive 20-30 Mod to High Pos. >30 Antigliadin Abs, IGG 20 H Units Neg:<20 Negative <20 Weak Positive 20-30 Mod to High Pos. >30 My interpretation is that the Antigliadin Abs, IgA result was a Negative but the Antigliadin Abs, IGG was a weak positive since it was a 20. This whole test was confusing to me. I though Celiac was either yes or no. Kind of like you can't be a little pregnant? Has anyone out there had this kind of testing? What does it mean? I'm going crazy with the wait. They tell me that the Ped. Gastro. can take up to a month to send his notes to the regular Dr. By the way, what does a DH rash that goes with Celiac look like? Also, how much of the body does it cover? My daughter has just one small patch of raised, rough skin on her stomach. Thanks for any help you can give.
