I started out with total cholesterol of 289 about a year pre-op. Lipitor, truly a miracle drug, brought it down to 188. DS + Lipitor brought it down to 120. Then, I tossed the Lipitor, and a few months ago it was 133. One of Dr. Elariny's post-op women has a total cholesterol of 97. Guest guest
Woohooo! My unmedicated levels are around 325. 40 mg/day of Lipitor brings it down to ~185. I just took my last Lipitor last night, and I'm torn about refilling since my surgery is on Thursday. Since surgery is hard on the liver, I thought it might be better to ditch the Lipitor until my 1-month labs. If I'm anywhere near 200 at that point, I'll party and rip up my prescription!!! ~alyssa surgery date: 12/20!! Re: tossing Lipitor > I tossed mine three months ago. Guest guest
Alyssa- get just 10 days' worth- you can refill it that way, then IF your surgeon tells you to keep taking it, you haven't been off of it. just a thought- Hugs, Liane > Woohooo!
