Alyssa,

I tossed mine three months ago. I started out with total cholesterol

of 289 about a year pre-op. Lipitor, truly a miracle drug, brought

it down to 188. DS + Lipitor brought it down to 120. Then, I tossed

the Lipitor, and a few months ago it was 133. One of Dr. Elariny's

post-op women has a total cholesterol of 97. (BTW, she has uncovered

a statement that very low cholesterol levels might impair fertility.)

Woohooo! :) My unmedicated levels are around 325. 40 mg/day of Lipitor

brings it down to ~185. I just took my last Lipitor last night, and I'm

torn about refilling since my surgery is on Thursday. Since surgery is hard

on the liver, I thought it might be better to ditch the Lipitor until my

1-month labs. If I'm anywhere near 200 at that point, I'll party and rip up

my prescription!!!

Alyssa,

Im willing to bet within a month you will see a drastic change in your

cholesterol levels!

Now I know everybody is different but my level to begin with was a total of

273 and within a month it was 200! Now its 144 a year later!! Hang onto

that hope becuz the surgery DOES change the levels for the better!

Hugs and lots of them,

Judie

My cholesterol at my last bloodwork was 100. This impaired fertility thing

is a good thing at this point in my life. (approaching 40 and been out of the

baby biz for quite a while--2 children 12 and 9). Not for everyone, but for

me this is a good thing!!

That's probably a safe and wise way to go. GOOD LUCK with your

surgery and with your cholesterol!

Alyssa-

get just 10 days' worth- you can refill it that way, then IF your

surgeon tells you to keep taking it, you haven't been off of it.

just a thought-

Thanks, Steve!! The journey begins Tuesday with a full-liquid diet and

passing my oldest son off to my father Tuesday night. Then, early Weds, we

drive south to Delano...
