We were told my daughter would need a band anywhere from 6-12 weeks and they

never mentioned a second band. But they called the week her band was being made

and said they forgot to tell us that Lola may need a second band and since they

didn't tell us that we could still choose to move forward with the band they

were making or back out and they would refund us the money since they didn't let

us know that we may be looking at buying two bands for really good results. We

moved forward and my daughter did need a second band but we couldn't afford it

and we are happy with the results from one!

So I would think they would have told you upfront if you might need a second DOC

Band.

ever say the child might need more than one band at the get go?

We were told that there was a possibility of needing a second band.  In the end, she was borderline needing a second & after discussing it extensively we decided not to go with a second band.  The techs at the San Diego office were torn too...some thought we should go with it and some thought we shouldn't.  (I think her number was a 5).

I honestly feel that (at least at the San Diego office) they have the baby's best interest in mind & are not out to make money.I think the reason so many in this group opted for a second band is that once you are educated on Plagio/Brachy you have a trained eye & see the assymetry.  Also, once you have invested several months & several thousands of dollars it's really hard to settle for " almost perfect " results.  That was our issue with not banding.  We can still see a bit of assymetry though no one else can.  It's hard to not get caught up in banding a second time to get near perfect results.

Thanks for everyone's answers. I have had a great experience so far at CT but was curious after hearing about all of these multiple bands. My husband and I have already discussed that we want to stop at one. But I don't think our daughters situation is very obvious. I say that now though.... ;)Thank uSent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeedFrom: NeRoy <heatherneroy@...>Date: Mon, 1 Mar 2010 17:24:31 -0800<Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: Re: Cranial Tech DOC band question We were told that there was a possibility of needing a second band.  In the end, she was borderline needing a second & after discussing it extensively we decided not to go with a second band.  The techs at the San Diego office were torn too...some thought we should go with it and some thought we shouldn't.  (I think her number was a 5).I honestly feel that (at least at the San Diego office) they have the baby's best interest in mind & are not out to make money.I think the reason so many in this group opted for a second band is that once you are educated on Plagio/Brachy you have a trained eye & see the assymetry.  Also, once you have invested several months & several thousands of dollars it's really hard to settle for " almost perfect " results.  That was our issue with not banding.  We can still see a bit of assymetry though no one else can.  It's hard to not get caught up in banding a second time to get near perfect results. On Mon, Mar 1, 2010 at 3:15 PM, natalie <nat.jo.cgmail> wrote: We were told my daughter would need a band anywhere from 6-12 weeks and they never mentioned a second band. I wish the person who did my son's evaluation would have said he may need two

bands. He didn't--I was just told 2-3 months.

Well, my son outgrew his first DOC Band in 8 weeks. While he has done very

well--brachy went from a CI of 100% to 92.2% and plagio from 6mm to 4mm--I

actually am the one who pushed for a 2nd band.

He received his 2nd one on Monday at 6.5 months. I hope to get his CI into the

mid/upper 80s--or less than +2 standard deviation.
