Guest guest
, Bandaids can wrinkle under the socks and cause pressure spots. They also do tend to soften the skin a bit. However, I have used them a time or two. I asked our orthotist about it once. He said he really didn't know if bandaids did more harm than good. Sometimes they are needed. Tenny recently cut his heel swimming and it took forever to heal. I did use a bandaid or two to help it along. To prevent skin breakdown, I like the liquid bandaid more than the stick on kind. Just my two cent worth. Mom to Tenny rt. cf. FAB 14/7 Bandaids I just saw on a post that you shouldn't put bandaids on babies feet...why not?? I haven't done it, but have considered it a few times....
Guest guest
not sure where that came from. A bandiad can help, but if it's pressure causing the problem it will make the shoe press that much more due to the thickness of the bandaid. For blisters (caused by friction) slick bandaids work well actually. They will slip against the shoe rather than the foot itself, so slick bandaids are ok if you're dealing with this kind of situation. If there's no slipping going on, and you need to cover a sore you can try the cloth bandaids but plastic/slick is best for blisters. bandaids aren't bad, but they may not help as much inside a shoe as they do without shoes for normal uses. all you can do is try I suppose. clear as mud?
