Guest guest
Hi, Some of you might remember that Ava developed a nasty blister on her big toe from the DBB's. She ended up in hospital for a few days and was out of boots for a couple of weeks due to infection. Her whole toe was a mangled mess. Anyway, we're now in the s, but 6 weeks on, her toe is still really red. I'm terrified of a blister happening again, although the skin on the toe is really hard (she had no skin left!!). I've been wrapping gauze around her toe, but it's still red and angry looking. Is there something else I can do, or is normal for it to red for a while? I'm pretty sure it's not from pressure as she has heaps of toe room....any ideas? Should I just be brave and stop wrapping it, or should I wrap it more? I hate feeling nervous about it........ Guest guest
Bless her heart! developed a nasty pressure sore from the Markells and we switched to the s. It took a very long time for her toe to return to normal, like over a month or more. The doc assured me that it would soon have nice pink skin where there was purple and red but it did take a while. What does the doc say about it? If you are feeling iffy about wrapping, it doesn't hurt to do that for a while. I padded some small red areas on for over a month because I was afraid they would turn into nasty sores. They didn't (this was in the s) and after about a month in them I stopped using the padding and she was just fine. You will be able to do this soon, I would imagine, but if the toe still looks red to you, then I would keep padding it to speed the healing. Guest guest
You can try DupDerm. It works like a thick layer ok skin. Very sticky, leave it on for 3-4 days until it falls off. Dont take it off until it falls of though cause yo ucan actually pull loose skin off, like from blisters. They do make things heal alot faster. I know from sores and scratches Lilee has gotten that she still has some marks, redness now months later. But the spots are Ok. They just take a while to fully heal.
