Hi Mike,

How long has your son's left foot been in its present condition? Our daughter

had the same issue and had an ATTT (anterior tibialis tendon trnasfer) performed

in Iowa when she had just turned 4. It's a small operation but requires 6 weeks

of post operative casts.

What has your son's doctor said about his foot? If he he/she hasn't suggested

further correction you should consider a second opinion from another Ponseti

trained doctor. Perhaps sending photos to Dr. Ponseti himself would be helpful.

[sPAM] Post club feet symptoms at the age of 4

Does anyone have a child that was born with club feet in both feet

that now has one foot that didn't take well to the procedure of the

Ponseti method. We had our son at the age of 10-12 days old checked

out by a specialists in the ponseti method and did casting i believe

6-8 times. Then he preformed a achilies tendon release. He then had a

cast for 4 weeks and then put into the awful braces which he did not

take well too. Know my son left foot has limited plantar / dorsi

flexion in his foot and continues to walk on the out side of his left

foot. However his right foot has good range of motion in plantar/

dorsi flexion. Has anyone tried active relase therapy or myofascia

release to help improve flexibility. I am looking for a way to improve

his flexbility in both feet especially his left foot. He is 4 years

old and i want to help him and other children like him.

Thanks, Mike

Dan & :

He just turned 4 and it has been going on for about a year now. I have developed

a technique called foam rolling that helps increase flexiblity. I am currently

tying it on my son, however this works great on adults. Please email me at

Kineticloop@... to send you a copy of the article yahoo wont allow me to

send it since the article is too big.
