Guest guest
Glad you had a good consultation. Dr. VB is wonderful and will spend as much time as you need with you once you get in there. He's very kind and gentle with the babies, as well. Because of the attention he gives to his patients, it has been my experience that appointment times don't mean much. Sometimes you can wait a while, but I don't mind because he never rushes anything once we get in with him. If you decide to go with him, plan on spending the better part of the afternoon down there, especially when you are going through the casting. It's really not too bad. Guest guest
Gretchen, It sounds like a great visit! I am so glad you were reassured. I hope we have the same experience with him. Thanks for the feedback. Dr. van Bosse consultation Thanks to everyone who responded to my post about question for propective doctors. As it happened, we got such a good explanation that I didn't really need them. We got to the clubfoot clinic at 12:30 and put our name on the list. It seems to be a first come, first served sort of situation. At 2:30 or so, they finally called us back. Dr. van Bosse sat down and explained what exactly clubfoot is, how is used to be corrected and how it is corrected now. He was very personable, I thought and I really appreciated that he didn't rush us through the consultation. Most of what he said I already knew, either from my own experience or my research, but I felt assured that they follow the Ponseti method completely. He introduced us to Dr. Lehman and two sets of parents and kids. One was an infant that was having his second set of casts applied (amazing the difference already!) and the other was a one year-old who was just starting to walk. You absolutely couldn't tell there had ever been anything wrong. All in all, it was a good experience. Very reassuring, especially for my husband who has no experience with any of this. Guest guest
I'm due on August 10, but I don't think we're going to make it that far. I'm measuring small as a result of low-ish fluid levels. The same thing happened with my daughter. My placenta aged prematurely. It seems likely that we are headed down the same road here. So I am expecting an induction, sooner rather than later. Guest guest
Gretchen and Anne: I am not sure where to go to meet with Dr. Van Bosse....I know his office is separate from the children's center, but is it in the same building? 301 17th street? I go for my consultation next week and a little anxious as I hate driving in the city! Thanks! jennifer Re: Dr. van Bosse consultation > > Glad you had a good consultation. Guest guest
What day is your appointment? If it is Tuesday afternoon, then it will be at HJD. If it is any other time, then it will be at his office, which is right around the corner in a different building. I think 301 E 17th Street is the HJD address, but I'm not sure. If you'd like to email me off board (annold_f at yahoo.com), I'll give you my phone number and I can give you the low down on easiest route, parking, etc. > > > > Glad you had a good consultation. I'd expect that's where your consultation would be too, since they will want to introduced you to parents whose kids are being treated. Are you in New Jersey? Driving into the city is not much fun. I do not recommend the Holland Tunnel. We took that in last time and failed to realize it put us further south than we needed to me. Depending on where you are coming from, I'd suggest the Lincoln Tunnel or the GW Bridge to the FDR.
