Guest guest
We too are using CT (in Dallas) and learned that they are " out of network. " We have BCBS and are currently pursuing a " PPO Exception. " I'd urge you to call your insurance company and request the PPO exception. There is an " access standard " in your policy that will stipulate if no other provider is within 15 or 30 miles (actual number depends on your provider and specific policy) then you might just win the PPO Exception. I was also told that EVEN IF THERE IS ANOTHER PROVIDER but you choose CT for other reasons (such as our Pediatrician's urging) then you have a chance of winning on appeal. I'm in the initial phases of the appeal. Barberic, the insurance coordinator from CT, can help you with this process. Her phone number is 866-362-2263 x6382. And our Dr. has written a letter stating the reasons he referred us to Doc Band and was not willing to write a prescription to any other orthos (.....I am NOT putting down any other company or choices, this is a statement based solely on my daughters needs, as described by her Dr.). I think this should weigh heavily in our insurance fight. I wish you luck!
