Guest guest
Hey sis, Welcome home and a big hug to mom! Remember when I had my surgery, the anastimoses between the duodenum and intestine kept shredding. Well, my wonderful doc had to hand sew it 3 times. He said as it healed it could possibly reduce down in size...like washing a wool sweater in hot water! Anyway, so today I go for an endoscopy and they will stretch that anastimoses so food can go down. Thrilled? hardly! yikes...but nothing has stayed down since Tuesday night. I finally figured out that I might as well stop eating..so no food since Wednesday! Water doesn't like me either! I am glad you figured out your eating problem. Getting rid of the pukes is just a god send! May I join you by this afternoon. I am dying for a huge glass of sugar free lemonade! I will probably gulp it too fast and up it will come! Hugs, Theresa > Hello. > > I missed all of youz guys. Wait--I'm back in Virginia, now. I > missed y'all. Guest guest
OK, so this isn't a total surprise or anything. Don't know if that makes you feel any better, but I do when I realize that kind of fact because as long as I know what to expect, I'm alright. I get paranoid if there's too much uncertainty. You've had an EGD before, right? If not, don't worry cuz it's so easy--and this is from the woman who is afraid of needles! Love ya, M > > Hello. > > > > I missed all of youz guys. Guest guest
> So you're saying I'm a little piglet, right? ROFL I sure can pack it away. I am saying that you are one lucky dog!! I can't wait to be able to eat a piece of bread and I quite enjoyed watching you do it! And believe me, I am never " good, " and probably would have eaten that bread despite the fact that I'd puke but I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of new friends at Hanratty's by spending half my time in the bathroom! You just wait, girl. One day I'm gonna be chowing down with you. Love,

Guess I'm not extremely disappointed because I have been losing (I think I would really be paranoid if I hadn't gotten to this point yet, you know?)... So, to everyone who posts and is amazed at what they can eat or the amount they can eat -- Believe me, I've been there, done that! Now I have WITNESSES to boot! ROFL Remember, I put an ENTIRE packet of butter on that little sucker.. And, I tell you -- those little pieces of round bread were so DAMN CUTE -- I really had to put the basket away from me or I would have had more (then I wouldn't have been able to eat that delicious shrimp!). I think you did GREAT eating the shrimp and the quesedillas! When you're further post-op and come for a follow up we'll HAVE to get together and have a little feast! Do you like Chinese? I know a lot of EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC places (dim sum comes to mind -- heaven!) in NYC's Chinatown... You name the day, I'll be there with bells on! ROFL all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. Gagner/Mt. sinai/NYC 10 months post-op and still feelin' fabu preop: 307 lbs/bmi 45 now: 194 lbs/bmi 28/size sweet 16 but squeezin' i
Guest guest
Alright...let's get the story straight. My dear friend , I did have a slice of bread, however, i didn't slab on the butter like you did...hehe....am so jealous that you lost all that weight after eating that. ... I was so glad to meet you and let you in on my little secret about eating slowly. Believe me I know first hand what happens when you eat too much or too fast. Been there...done that Meanwhile it was great meeting you and your mom. Hopefully she will feel better soon and remember it will happen...it just takes time. Talk to you soon and hope we can get together real soon. It was a lot of fun and boy was that shrimp delicious....yummy...wish I could have some right now. By the way ....I want to go back to Starbucks and get the white chocolate mocha.....yummy. told me that there is a Starbucks right in the hospital. We will have to check that out at the next meeting. Let me know when you want to go shopping. I have plans for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Can't wait to go into my first normal store to buy a normal size. Guest guest
<< Hey Terry- remember when the thought of running seemed so far away? Girl.. you're almost there!! I'm so thrilled for you! Hugs, Liane 305.. finally.. >> Liane, Thanks for the awesome wishes. This year has been such an incredible journey for me. From looking at the outside and even more important the journey inside. There have been so many ups and downs ( plateaus come to mind) and that is something we all have to deal with. The bottom line is this surgery is the best and we will get there. Does it matter if I am 140 or 150? Not one bit...it is the trip that got us to this point. Today was the first time I was on the treadmill for twenty five minute and I walked over a mile. Never ever thought I could do that and you know what....I could have gone a little further...but I just thought one step at a time. I will go again tomorrow and the next day. You are doing beautifully. Keep it up. Terry 12/22/01 200 160 pounds gone forever size 14-16..... looking forward to going to a regular store...........YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
