Guest guest
My husband also is Air Force. I was showed Tricare had the helmet in their exclusions when we first asked about it. I didn't even try to go any further. Also my son was older when we started and mild as far as numbers which I thought would make it even more unlikely they would accept to pay for it. I would guess you should get as many letters as you can from everybody involved, the more the better, photostudies and research mentioning the possible future repercussions if left untreated. Did they tell you they might pay when you started? Try and look in the files for advice on what to do, for samples on how to write and what. Hopefully somebody else will chime in. As far as where maybe you should start by asking at the local tricare office on how to proceed for the appeal. Sorry I can't be of any help really. , Tampa, Fl , 24 mos, Mild plagio, starband for 6 mos Plagiocephaly From: L_peaches@...Date: Wed, 20 Jan 2010 08:55:25 +0000Subject: Tricare...denied My husband is in the Air Force and we just got our denial letter from tricare that they will not cover our daughters helmet fees! We are almost done with the helmet too! About 2 more months left. I now have to try and appeal and dont even know where to start! Any military families out there that can point me in the right direction? Should I get a letter from her physical therpist, her ortho and take to the local tricare office? Should I try and get a letter from the doc that sent us off base to begin with? Should I get research documents? Do I go to the local office or mail it all into the address they have on the letter for apeals?I feel so lost and so upset. We dont have the money to pay for this and have no idea if they wont cover it how we will. I am so depressed about money lately and this isnt helping.
