Guest guest
Hi there, A pressure sore starts out as a red mark that quickly deepens to a purple or even black mark as the tissue errodes away opening up a very deep hole in the skin. A blister is more surface related, but a pressure sore goes deep and gets real ugly often leading to infections. As you wait for the new shoes, I see a couple of options: You can cut a hole out of the heel of your Markell shoe so it doesn't rub the sore, or you can request your child be put in a holding-cast until the shoes arrive. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I have 3 kids with bcf, you're in good company here. ee Visit Me On The Web For Clubfoot Information! http://www.wildliferevivaltaxidermy.com/ShawsPage.html Pressure sores? Looking for advice. I don't thing I have posted here before so let me tell you a little about myself and family. I have 2 children born with clubfeet. My son Shaun is 7 and was treated with the full blown surgery seven years ago. We live in Toronto Canada and they were not doing the Ponseti method here during that time. He now has some foot paing when he runs and the doctor is thinking of putting him in Afo's temporairly in September;he love that! My daughter Jenna is 5 months old today and was also born with bilateral clubfeet. We've had a long road with her and she started her 23/7 wear last Wednesday. We hate the Markells and the s are on there way. My problem is I am really concerned about her right foot which is the more involved clubfoot. I am not sure what a pressure sore looks like and I don't know if her feet are correctly placed in the shoes because her right foot doesn't seem to go completely down. It also has a red mark on the heel which looked like a blister at first. I am so afraid of a relapse while we wait for the s. Does anyone have any advice about what to put on a pressure sore or a blister? The doctor said to give her an hour break 2 times a day because it's the Summer and her feet are sweating alot. I am afraid to do this because her right foot was so difficult and a resistant clubfoot. I am sorry this post has gone on and on....just venting I guess.
