Guest guest
Hi Group, I have just joined and am glad to see this group out there. I have an 7 1/2 year old boy who was born with bilateral clubfoot. It was a surprise because it was not detected before birth. I did not know much and after many weeks of casting, the dr suggested surgery. That is what we did. He is healthy and does not have a lot of problems with his feet but they still bother him at times. I am 20 weeks pregnant for my third child, a boy, and found out he will also have bilateral clubfoot. I am looking for an alternate to surgery. I have come across the Ponseti method and it sounds much better than surgery. Does anyone know how to find doctors that are correctly trained in this method? We live in Charlotte, North Carolina. Thanks for any help you can give!
Guest guest
You have come to the right group. I'm happy that they were able to detect your new baby's clubfoot before birth so that you have time to prepare. My daughter's clubfeet were a surprise as well.
