Guest guest
, If you log into this group's home page and type Van Bosse (and then Kasser separately) in the search box, it will pull up all the previous posts about these two doctors. There are good reports on both. Also FYI, there is a patient/physician database in the database section where families can enter their personal referrals for doctors. About your question on Dr. Ponseti. Yes, he sees patients on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He still applies the casts himself, however, he does not perform any tenotomies. We've been seeing him for 6 years now and my daughter, , loves to go see her " Papa Ponseti " . He is an amazing man; words really can't adequately describe him. His passion is helping children. That's why he still works- even though he deserves a nice relaxing retirement! He gets 50-60 email messages per day, the majority are probably not from his own patients...and also takes/makes many phone calls. His dedication to the children is apparent. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and keep us posted! Guest guest
Hi My son, , is almost 4 months old and was born with BCF. We have been seeing Dr Van Bosse for his treatment. He was in 8 casts and is now in his FAB 23/7. He did not need to have a tenotomy done. He's been wearing the FAB for about 8 weeks now and seems to be ok with it. Dr. Van Bosse is very pleased with his progress. I had similar insurance issues and Dr. Van Bosse was the only doctor in the area that accepted our insurance. I came on here asking for information about him and no one responded. I made some more phone calls and found that there were very few doctors who were willing to work with us financially and even that would have been a financial hardship. So, off we went to see Dr. Van Bosse, very nervous and with our fingers crossed. On to Dr. V; I absolutely love him. He is a wonderful physician and has a kind and gentle way with the baby. He takes all the time I need to explain things to me and thoroughly answers all of my questions. Another thing I really like about him is that he is kind of young - mid 40's, I would guess - and he will be able to care for for his entire course of treatment. The first time we saw Dr. V., we went to his actual office and all of the other visits have been at the Clubfoot Clinic at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, which is part of NYU. There is parking right down the block, so it is very convenient. The clinic is every Tuesday afternoon at HJD and it is run by Dr. Van Bosse and Dr. Lehman. Dr. Lehman is the doctor we were initially refered to by the pediatric orthopaedist where we live, but he does not take any insurance at all. One of the great things about being seen at the clinic (which is in the Wallace Lehman wing of the hospital) is that the 2 doctors consult with each other, so it is like getting 2 doctors for the price of 1 (a $15 copay, I might add). The one drawback to the clinic is that sometimes the wait is a bit long, so it is usually an all afternoon affair. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me here or by email (annold_f at yahoo.com) and we can speak further. Good luck!
