Guest guest
So , You are plagued from the waist down and we have been plagued from the waist up! Laughing...although I am not suicidal about it, I guess it would be safe to say that post op, you might run into some problems? I think I will keep my green and raise you no diarrhea! Hey, I wonder if we suffer from that which annoys us least? Interesting concept! Guest guest
OOOPS! Forgot that 's birthday is my surgery date, November 20! Now that I remember that, I HAVE been feeling better as of very recently. I followed Theresa's lead with the Cream of Wheat and Judie's with the ham, cheese, and pickle roll-ups, and I had a pretty good day yesterday. Yesterday was also my very first day of taking supplements in pill form. WOO HOO! Oh, happy day! I love pills!! And remember: all of my pills have passed my size, smell, and dissolving tests, so I had NO problem with them. You know what went down really well? Ice cream (like Judie said!). Yeah, I suppose that I shouldn't eat that night and day. So, I now have the faintest of hopes that the November Crappy Club will slowly be fading into distant memory for all of us members. But don't any of you worry: you will be the first to know about my latest ralphing episode (only one so far), my tiniest belly cramp, and the new textures and smells of my BMs. I know it's an exciting prospect, but you'll just have to wait! Love, (who took her first iron cap last night and is waiting for a scary, black shit!) > > > > > In a message dated 12/11/01 7:07:02 PM !!!First Boot!!!, > > mkf5t@v... > > > > > writes: > > > > > > > > > > << Tell this to Kathy, too, my dear! > > > > > > > > > > She must have gotten her surgery dates mixed up! Guest guest
Hey : I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. I'm about 6 weeks out and have been able to tolerate most foods. I do get that weird sinking feeling when I eat sometimes, but that has started to disappear over the past week. I haven't had any nausea, thank God, cuz the diarrhea is bad enough. Take care! Guest guest
Thanks, my dear. I had a damn good day yesterday! Cereal, chicken taco salad, gelato, all my pills--no problem. Little sinking feelings here and there, but not overwhelming and not too many of them. Maybe it IS going away? Sorry to hear about your diarrhea. That, for me, is OK. Even had some old-fashioned, solidish logs yesterday. (No, don't get grossed out! Y'all knew I'd start writing about this soon!) Guest guest
Jen, Other than this weird aberration yesterday which I think was from the S/F Hot Cocoa..(artificial sweetners never seem to agree with me), I have been able to sleep through the night for almost the last week and not had to get up to goto the bathroom. I'm not sure if it's because this is the 5th week or because I could finally switch from Gatorade to water and therefore wasn't getting that excess sugar, but I think it's a combination of both! I now usually just go two or three times in the morning before I leave for work. I'll probably start getting up a little earlier (because I'm a freak) but also because I'm not getting to work as early as I normally am on somedays. Weirdly enough, I also think getting up earlier helps as well, not that you have to get up at 4:15 am like me since you haven't started back to work *grins*, but I was sleeping in until 10am or 11am when I was off because I had to get up 4 or 5 times at night to goto the bathroom and it made me tired..I think being horizontal for longer made it worse. Hopefully by next week I can definitely cancel my membership to the November Crappy Club! *grins* Anita 11/08/01 Dr Keshishian 11/08/01 320lbs 12/07/01 294lbs > > > > > > > In a message dated 12/11/01 7:07:02 PM !!!First Boot!!!, > > > > mkf5t@v... > > > > > > > writes: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > << Tell this to Kathy, too, my dear! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > She must have gotten her surgery dates mixed up! Guest guest
Hey, Anita! My logs are not the pre-op hard, bumpy, dark brown logs. They are smooth, nougaty, small-to-medium-sized sinking logs. Usually beige in color, they now have a greenish tint to them since taking iron supplements. I have also had plenty of chunky floaties as well, and sometimes they are accompanied by orange oil dollops, no larger than the size of a quarter. These oil dollops remind me of the stuff that forms on cold, ground hamburger meat, especially when it's mixed up with spaghetti sauce. I can only imagine what kind of toilet slick I would get if I ate a few Krispy Kremes! Oh, yeah! Check this out: I know that I've joked in the past about how my shit smells like roses (yes, Nick, pre- and post-op!). But guess what? MY SHIT REALLY DOESN'T STINK MUCH! And I don't have as much gas, either. At first they both had a sewerish smell, but no longer. Just smells like plain old shit, and not just to my nose, but to other members of the family as well. Of course, asking one of them to go get such-and- such from the bathroom right after I've just taken a sneaky dump is not working too often anymore. I'll have to switch to the old " Someone left the toilet clogged and I can't bend over with this plunger; would you do this for me, please? " trick! Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for the (graphic) description. I think the roller coaster was the one I could relate to best! This reminds me of having a C-section - the descriptive narration is not for the weak. Thank you all for being honest. Ann
Guest guest
Hello, Miss Ann. My answer to your question is really a compilation of what others and myself have said about this strange belly feeling: It is as though you are swallowing rocks every time you eat or drink something, kind of a sub-nausea in the pit of your gut. For me, the feeling comes in short waves, like my belly is clenching or squeezing on whatever is in it before it releases its grip. Of course, I also liken it to a " sinking feeling, " similar to one you might get going down in a rollercoaster or a jerky elevator. Lastly, it is accompanied by a supposed overwhelming awareness of how food and drink is traveling and settling in your digestive system. Unfortunately, I'm so unused to listening to my body that I mix up this feeling with that of being full and with that of vomiting. Sometimes this " sinking feeling " happens when I'm approaching satiety, even though I know that I've hardly eaten two ounces of food. When I'm close to vomiting, this feeling builds strongly in intensity until I can actually feel the slow rise of puke in my esophagus. Best, > Hi ! > What are those " little sinking feelings? Guest guest
Hey Anita: glad you're able to sleep through the night finally! I think my body has decided upon it's own schedule...I get up at 3am, then again around 5:30 am. I try to sleep for another hour before taking the kids to school, then I make one more visit and that's usually it for the day. I go back to work on Wednesday, so I'm hoping that this remains the same. Hope your week went well - I'm sure your group was happy to have you back! Guest guest
Jen, Overall my week went great!! To top it off, the courts approved our company's pre-structured bankruptcy so we will be out of debt on 12/20/01 and we already have someone that's going to give us $150 million. We only need $100 to get into the black, so we should be doing great! Not to mention, there were a few other companies that were interested in giving us money, but just didn't want to be the primary bondholder or whatever..we'll we've got a primary so we have the opportunity to get others now! It was nice going back to work, because everyone did miss me..I even remembered how to do my job! *grins* Anita Dr Keshishian 11/08/01 P.S, Pre-op, I used to have to get up several times to pee, so actually sleeping through the night is a new thing for me! It's great! Sounds like you feel your sleep schedule is doable, so I hope it continues! > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 12/11/01 7:07:02 PM !!!First > > Boot!!!, > > > > > > mkf5t@v... > > > > > > > > > writes: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > << Tell this to Kathy, too, my dear! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > She must have gotten her surgery dates mixed up!
