Toileting hygeine and other embarassing questions

Hi everyone,

I hate to have to ask, but I hate not knowing even more.

I'm new to this group and still pre-op. I've been reading posts for a

few hours and I keep seeing references to people needing help wiping

their asses after surgery. Is this true? Why? How bad is it? How long

is this assistance needed? What if you don't have anybody you feel

comfortable asking for this kind of help? I have a BMI of 61, so I

already have some trouble in this area. And even though I've been

married for 15 years, my husband and I have always maintained privacy

regarding the bathroom.

I hate to have to ask, but I hate not knowing even more. Could someone

enlighten me please?
