Guest guest
Michele, I am guessing maybe ee is still there? It was terrible here last night. 1.5 hours from Iowa City. They have showed many buildings without roofs. They said that the arena is ok, so I am asuming that the RMH was not hit. Will listen close to the news and see. I think most of it was down town Iowa City. I too hope everyone in Iowa City, SHawnee, Theresa, are all ok. They didn't say much more probably because we are in NJ. If anyone is there I hope you are doing ok if you need anything please let us know I don't know how serious it was or any details of the event. Guest guest
ee is home now, I think she just got home. I'm not sure if anyone else is there at the RMH from the boards, there was a family there from NJ when I left but they don't post on the groups (I don't think). we hope you & your family are ok and doing good. I figure you may not have electricity right now, so you probalby won't be able to respond right away. Michele
Guest guest
I don't think the University was hit by the tornado- they said Menards, Walmart, & several other places on the south side of town were slammed, but one of our nurses (I was at work last night when it all happened) knows someone who works at the University of Iowa Hospital and said they were not hit. I guess a lot of Iowa City has damage from high winds though. Guest guest
I guess we don't count too much even though we live in Iowa City Just kidding. We're very close to the Menard's and car dealerships that were hit, but fortunately, we didn't get any real damage. The shed in our backyard was blown around our house and landed mangled up in our front yard. Luckily that and some fallen tree branches are all our apparant damage. A family a few houses away from us had their siding blown off the front of their house. Like I told Jakob this morning on his way out the door to catch the bus, " the important thing is that we weren't hurt. Guest guest
Glad to hear you & your family (and house!) are ok!! My husband works in Iowa City (at Pearson) but I haven't heard anything from him as to if there was any damage at his office. I'd assume not since he did work all day today. Guest guest
Hi. We went to the University of Iowa Hospital Friday morning (the a.m. after the tornados) and it seemed that the area around the hospital escaped without damage. At that end of town, I saw zero damage. Hope that helps. I believe the problem in Iowa City was downtown and south of downtown. > > Hi, Just wondering if anyone was out at the RMH this week? Guest guest
We were in IC for the twisters. Actually, had her ATTT that day!!! We had an overnight stay in the hospital because her surgery wasn't until 2:45pm. They put everyone in the halls of the hospital and poor was in alot of pain.... everything from the surgery was just starting to wear off. From what I saw the next day the damage was about 4 or 5 blocks from the hospital. Riverside Dr. South of the hospital, near the Mcs was a traffic nightmare. in Iowa, mommy to 4yrs. 11/12/01, bilateral clubfoot and ATTT on 04/13/06 > > Hi, Just wondering if anyone was out at the RMH this week?
