I was 22 with my first pregnancy. It was twins, I lost one at 6 weeks and

had Jed at 36 weeks gestation. He was SGA but caught up. Then I had a

miscarriage at 7 weeks, another at 14 weeks and another at 8 weeks.. Then

had Liam.. He was born at 34 weeks after being in labor since 28 weeks....

Deb,

I had Jenna when I was 29. She will be 20 on Saturday. I had Max the

day before my 32nd birthday. I've had no other pregnancies, although

I will always wish I had that third child... It was just not meant to

be, I guess!

Based on everyone's responses thus far, I don't think age is a factor

with RSS.

My 1st pregnancy - age 22 - , RSS, born at 28 weeks

2nd pregnancy - age 29 - born at 38 weeks gestation

3rd pregnancy - age 32, had just after my 33rd b-day born on

due date

4th pregnancy - age 34, ectopic pregnancy requiring surgery for

removal at 10 weeks

Ops I forgot to add that Andre was born at 40 wks. gestation. Weighing 5lbs 14oz

and 18 inches. Also I was wondering did anyone gain a lot of weight with their

RSS children?? I was 118lbs when I got pregnant, and weighed in at 192lbs at the

time of delivery. I didn't eat much but gained like crazy.

I was 27 when I had the twins and it was my 3rd pregnancy. I had

never had a miscarriage. Although, this was my first pregnancy that

we did use clomid to get pregnant and artificial insemination.

I see a trend here.... I, too, took Clomid to get pregnant with Max.

I forgot to mention that before. He was 38 weeks and 6 pounds at

birth. Oh, that head was large, though. Good thing I had another c-

section!

Hi everyone,

I find this thread particularly interesting seeing as I am currently

undergoing tests for recurrent miscarriage :-(

(RSS) was my first pregnancy, I was aged 28

Second pg (took 10 months to conceive) - miscarriage at 11weeks

Third pg (took 18 months to conceive)- miscarriage at 11weeks

Fourth pg (took 1 (!) month to conceive - miscariage at 11wks but was

anembryonic (blighted ovum)

I am interested to see that some of you have taken Climid, indicating

some degree of impaired fertility, which I seem to have given the

amount of time it has tken me to conceive in the past.

With regarsd to food, 's favourites match a lit of yours: pasta,

sausages, mashed potatoes, olives, icecream and custard are her

favourites. She doesn;t like chocolate or sweets.

All these surveys make for interesting reafing!

With love

I just thought that I should clarify my situation with Clomid so as

the facts don't get misunderstood. I did not take clomid because I

was having trouble getting pregnant. It's a long story but because of

the way we were going to get pregnant at that time they wanted to make

sure it only took 1 try. I got pregnant with my other 2 kids on the

first try.

What I find very interesting is that some of our kids were twins to

siblings that miscarried. You would of thought that the miscarried

child would of been the one with the genetic disorder. Does anyone

know if their twins were identical?

Hey there, it's been a busy August here but since there are so many

similarities I thought I'd get in on this one too!

I had just turned 21 when I had at 41 weeks, no problems at

all.

I was 25 when I had Olivia (RSS) at 29 weeks, tried for 3 years to

get pregnant and finally went on Clomid to conceive.

I know I missed on the food survey but Olivia's tastes are a bit

different and I knew she wouldn't fit in with the others. Her all

time favorites are muscles (in the shell), lobster, clam chowder and

corn on the cob.

Sorry to hear of your losses. Very difficult indeed.

Unfortunately, I know way too much about fertility issues (see my

post re: mom's age). If you ever want to chat - please feel free to

give me a buzz or send me an e-mail.

Well my LeeAnn baby was adopted but I would venture to guess the

birthmother wasn't on fertility treatments! Ha ha

I attend meetings for my son who has autism and it is interesting to

compare these kind of notes there as well. So many moms were on

fertility meds of had IVF and multiples who now have autism. My son,

however, was born when I was 22 and was a SURPRISE baby! So, who knows.

Interesting topic!

probably ODD), (2, S Korea), LeeAnn (2 RSS S Korean adoption)

I may as well get on the band wagon with this as the pattern

continues. I had 3 miscarriages before my daughter was born (all at

about 8 weeks). I then had another miscarriage at 11 weeks when my

daughter was 6 months old and then fell pregnant with Charlie (RSS)

who was born 18 months after my daughter. I was 33 years old when I

had Charlie. I had 6 years of infertility, 5 IVF cycles (all

unsuccessful) and both pregnancies that became live births were when I

was on herbal medicine.

I was told by my paediatrician that there is a link between recurrent

miscarriage and RSS, especially UPD7 which Charlie is.

the plot thickens.....
