Guest guest
Christee, I haven't been keeping up with posts but I just switched to daily digest and when I saw your post I just had to respond. I think sometimes we are expected by others to " be over it " after a while. As a mother of three boys and finally a girl, I understand a little bit what you must be feeling. As you know, was born with bilateral clubfeet. Then if that wasn't enough, she had delays in motor skill development. Then she started losing enamel on her teeth. Now she might need tubes in her ears. I can totally relate to what you said about wanting things to be perfect for your daughter. I was talking to a friend about her ears today and I expressed that even though tubes in the ears isn't really a big deal, after all that she has been through already, it just doesn't seem fair. She is so traumatized by doctors that she screams from the second we walk into the doctors offices (any doctor) until the moment we leave. That tells me that her first doctor must have been causing pain when he casted her. I, too, wish I had switched docs sooner. I know that you already received a lot of feedback, but I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in what you are feeling. I think I understand your feelings, based on my own feelings about what has happened to my only daughter. My consolation is that since she has bilateral clubfeet, I am hoping that any discrepancy in the size of her calf muscles will be slight. Her feet are symmetrical, so I think she won't look different. Except of course for her teeth that will probably be black by the time she enters school. Actually, to me that is worse than the feet at this point. I dread the day that she stops smiling her big beautiful smile because someone thoughtlessly makes a comment about her teeth. I think of you and Lilee often. I will pray that you get through this quickly. Donna
