Hi Doris,

I had a hysterectomy 2-1/2 years ago March 15, 1999, and had my ds on

March 7, 2001. For the hysterectomy, I was cut along the bikini

line. To be honest with you, I don't think the ds was any worse

than the hysterectomy, except that certain smells with the ds made

sick to my stomach. Hope this helps!

By the way, what part of Pennsylvania are you from? My family is

from Pittsburgh, but we migrated to California in the late 50's.

There are still a few relatives back there in the Mt. Pleasant area.

Dear Debbie: Thanks for the info. You confirmed what I expected, that

the surgeries are probably pretty close in the amount of discomfort

and recovery times.

I grew up in Downingtown, PA then lived in Houston, Tx after I got

married. We moved back up here in 1987 and now live in the burg

area. I'm not sure where Mt Pleasant is. In fact, I describe myself

as geographically impaired! It's pathetic that I don't know more

about my state. I do know that when I get on the Pa Turnpike, I take

the road to the east to get to Phila and the road to the west to get

to Pittsburgh. Sad, very sad!
