Dr. Lassiter falsely posed as my MD and called my surgeon twice; the

first time he told him I was not MO (my BMI was 44 at the time) and

the second time he faxed a message stating my weight gain was soley

related to hypothyroidism implying that if Dr. E. did surgery it

would be a crime. Needless to say, I spent a small fortune going to

endocrinologists, etc. for clearance for surgery. I had all of the

co-morbids and was getting worse, I had gone into hypertensive crisis

twice, etc. and this man was so ignorant and so adamantly against WLS

that he made it his mission to prevent me from having it. He was the

plant MD for Nucor Steel, my husband's employer, and he even called my

husband and told him that those guys with funny names (referring to

Dr. Hazem Elariny) will do anything for a buck. I guess he thought I

would back down. Instead I filed complaints with the NC Medical Board

and the hospital where he practiced. I had surgery in October, am no

longer diabetic or hypertensive, have lost 33lbs and currently have a

BMI of 39, so I am no longer MO, just obese. Five years ago I had a

brain tumor resected and the mechanisms in my brain which send the

message out that I am full were destroyed, so I gained 100lbs. in 5

years and my body was not able to compensate. A sad story with a good

ending as Gaddy (talk about weird names) has gone to prison. God has

his own time frame.

Kathy,

Congrats on your weight loss and the justice received with that idiot

who made your life so miserable. Do you know exactly what he was

charged with that got him busted?

He went to the NC prison system as their MD, not an inmate. I should

have mentioned that in both posts. The NC Board charged him with

non-professional behavior. The hospital where he was on staff had

been trying to revoke his privileges for quite some time. Apparently

my complaint gave them the ammunition they needed.

Laughing...damn, I thought he went there as an inmate. What a bloody

shame. Well perhaps Bruce will fall in love with him and teach him

the meaning of screwing someone over!
