Guest guest
Hey Everyone, had her 3 month checkup with her endo. today. Since starting growth hormone in June she has grown 3 inches. Her endo. was pretty amazed since she's only on .2mls of norditrophin. She seemed almost confused, but happy. She is 22 months old and she said she is now the size of a 13 month old and the weight of a 6 month old. Weight is now a big issue. We talked about how to get more calories in her. Hopefully, she will start gaining, but with all the running she does now, I don't see it happening real fast. Is three inches since June too much, since she was growing so slow before? Thanks, Tammy

Guest guest
I'm scared to use periactin, because her stomach is so small and she can't handle no more than 2 1/2 oz at a time. On the other hand, I know that it might increase her appetite and help stretch her stomach. I'll call and ask how her endo. feels about it. I know that I'm going to try to get on it, because he doesn't eat hardly at all and I've threatened him with a feeding tube. I know threatening is bad, but sometimes you just get to your wits end. Guest guest
Tammy - it won't stretch her stomach, so don't worry. Periactin will simply make her a bit hungrier, so she will eat more often. If her stomach is full, that alone will stop one of our kids from eating (why delayed gastric emptying is such a big cause of our kids' failure to thrive). It isn't as if Periactin is going to force her to eat tons of food when she shouldn't. Promise. You may not even notice her eating anything more than usual. Dr. H always uses the Saltine cracker story. One Saltine cracker a day more than normal will add up to one pound of weight gain over one year.... (11 calories a day x a year's worth of days = more than 3,500 calories, and 3,500 calories more than you need/burn is ONE pound!) > hey tammy!! > great news on the growth!! is she only tube fed? what about using > periactin to help? > > jodie c > > > > > >
