Closer to Alabama than some of you are though. > > Thanks for the info on dr. H I don't think we could afford the > > convention this year maybe next time. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group ...yeah, the web can be downright frightning sometimes! My daughter has a right club foot and she wears the FAB (foot abduction brace) with her cf set out to a 70* outward rotation and her non cf set at 45*, this is pretty standard protocol. Some docs set the non club foot at 35 or 40* which is fine too, but the foot that was clubbed needs to be set at 70*. Who are you seeing btw....haven't been on the board for a few days. Also, I want to say that No questions are stupid! One thing that I would suggest is to write some questions that you would like answered down before your next appt. that way you won't forget btdt! And you will also learn a ton from all the great parents on this board, it was like my lifeline literally after Grace was born with her crookedy lil foot which has been beautifully corrected (with 4 casts and no tenotomy by our Ponseti doctor). Her Ped. had to ask me at our last appt. which foot was clubbed because he couldn't tell lol. Really, it will be fine ! I know that it is scary at first but the longer you are here, the better you will feel. As long as you have a good Ponseti doc, you really have nothing to worry about I promise you! Once again, welcome, glad that you are here! Smiles, & Grace 23 mos urcf FAB 12-14 hrs > > Hi! Guest guest
Hi , > This may sound like a stupid question, but if my > daughter has only one clubbed foot does she still > need to wear the bar or will they use something > different? She should still wear the same boots and bar but with the normal foot not rotated out as far as the clubfoot. My son has a unilateral right clubfoot too and wears the same brace as well. The clubfoot is rotated out to 70 degrees and the normal foot to about 30 degrees (actually this has been reduced recently due to his loose ligaments). He's 3 1/2 years old now and still wears his 'good night shoes' as he calls them at night without any problems. > I am glad to have found this site.Other places on > the web were very negative about the outcome of > club foot and it was very depressing thinking that > there might be little hope of her getting > better. Out of interest, which other sites were those? Maybe we all could got here and tell them that it really hasn't got to be all that bad? All the best, with (3.5y) and Alister (3.5y, right CF, Ponseti method, UK) ___________________________________________________________ Copy addresses and emails from any email account to Yahoo!
