Guest guest
We just switched from the Markell's to the 's because my son was developing a pressure sore on the top of his foot, and my son was fitted for a size 4 shoe. They arrived two days ago and they seem really large. There is a ton of extra toe room- which I understand they do for growth (the shoes are not cheap!) and there is a lot of extra leather. I actually find it hard to put them on because there is too much extra inner tongue. After the second night it looks like my son may be developing a little blister on the inside of his ankle where the middle strap fastens. Does anyone have any hints for dealing with all the extra material? Thanks again! Tara
Guest guest
Hi. I hope I understand the issue correctly. It is frustrating to have shoe problems. Hope to be of help. Are you tucking the material under or over the white molding? The tongue should be taut over the top of the foot. The extra tongue should pull across over (NOT under) the white molding with the extra tucked past the molding. If this doesn't help, I would contact MD Orthopaedics ( 's team) and ask them for ideas...maybe you can trim the suede a bit? We, too, used to use Markells and got some nasty blisters--we just love Lily's s! I am sure someone else will chime in with more brilliant ideas but perhaps this can hold in the meantime. nosurgery4clubfoot , " taraknyc " wrote: > > We just switched from the Markell's to the 's because my son was developing a > pressure sore on the top of his foot, and my son was fitted for a size 4 shoe. Guest guest
Tara, We had the same trouble....our 3 month old son was measured by our Dr. and we received a size 2 for one of his feet. It is way too big and the folds in the tongue are causing red spots on the tops and sides of his foot. We talked to Mr. by phone and expressed our concern, and he asked us to send pictures of our son's feet in the shoes. He agreed that one is too big, and sent us a form telling us how to measure his feet. We did the measurements and sent them back to Mr. and he is going to send a new shoe. I'm going to see about just hanging on to the size 2 until we need it. Mr. says this happens all the time (wrong sizes). You may want to contact him, or if anyone else has suggestions about dealing with the extra material, I would love to hear them also! Guest guest
you have to pull the tongue TIGHTLY and FAR over the top of the rubber and then hold it there with one hand while you then pull the strap hard and tight over the tongue so there are no folds. Then hold both the tongue and the strap together (PRESS on both in this tight position keeping them in place) and then buckle the strap. the little hole in the tongue should sit just above the top of the middle strap. this helps you know it's positioned properly. it's a bit of a finger workout but it gets easier. Just make sure to pull the tongue as far over and as tight as possible BEFORE you lie the strap across it. And pull the strap up hard so it's as tight as it would be if you cinched it (suede doesn't slide well) before you lie it over the tongue. Hold them both so they don't move.
