Guest guest
, Poor Ian!!!! Atleast now you will have a sense that his sugars can drop fast he's just like Maddy. And the in answer to ur question the only reason I was able to hang in there for 3 weeks was because I had all you guys calling and emailing that was my sanity. I'll pray for Ian tonight! Keep me posted and give him big hugs and kisses Chrissy
Guest guest
Glad to hear he is better - we had the exact same thing though Emerence's sugars didn't drop so low. I know, I don't know how parents handle longer stays either! Those 2 days with Emerence did me in to....give the guy a hug! > > Don't have time to check all the posts yet - so, if it seems like > I'm not up on things - please be patient with me - I will check up > on everyone later today. > > Ian was in the hospital yesterday and today - just got home. Guest guest
, Man, sorry you and Ian had to go into the hospital. That really stinks. Hopefully he will stay well now and that will be all behind you. Seems like everyone is getting sick. I guess it is just that time of year! Ugh. came home with a headache today and even took a nap! That is so unheard of so I knew he wasn't feeling well. But, he is up now and says he is feeling better. I know how scared you were with Ian's blood sugar being that low and seeing him that lethargic. scared the crap out of me two years ago with a drastic blood sugar drop. He was less the 20 by the time he was in the ER. Talk about scary! So, I know what you went through. Nothing like seeing so many people hovering over your child at once. Each one with their own job! Ugh, what a nightmare. And, was unresponsive, like Ian. Let's hope we never have to go through that again...right!? Email if you need to talk or anything! Jodi () Ha, ha. Thought you might need a laught!! ) > > Don't have time to check all the posts yet - so, if it seems like > I'm not up on things - please be patient with me - I will check up > on everyone later today. > > Ian was in the hospital yesterday and today - just got home. Guest guest
You poor thing. JEEZ!!!! I am glad you guys are at home now at least. How is Ian this afternoon? More like his old self? I bet you will never again be so happy as to see toothpaste all over the house!!!!! I was concerned when you weren't around via email this weekend. But as I mentioned, it seems a gremlin was getting my emails so I was thinking maybe yours went that way (I'll tell you more about that later). Rest is in order for you now and a chance to come down off the adrenaline rush you have been feeling for the last 2-3 days!!! Take it easy tonight, get hubby to pamper you (!!) and hug Ian! I am so glad it worked out. As you said, I think Chrissy deserves some kind of medal for doing it as long as she did!!!! You are one terrific mom! Talk to you soon. Guest guest
Jodi - hey - I knew you had enough on your plate! Thank you though. Ian's not eating or drinking that great today. I've even resorted to leaving something to drink in his crib. Throwing all the rules out the door. I plan on asking Dr. H to give me a prescription for an ACCU Check. If she refuses (which I doubt she will) I will demand that the Pediatrician get me one (yes demand and I already mentioned to them that I would DEMAND one - just to let them get a headstart with their thinking) He's just not been himself. I'm watching him VERY CLOSELY though as you can imagine. For the first time in a long time - I'm wishing this week would just blur by me so that we can get to New York and talk to Dr. H. I'm a little worried about him. He lost a pound. I took him to the Gastroenterologist today to get a weight check. He was 21 lbs 10 oz on Sept 27 and today he was 20 lbs 4 oz. He feels skinny again. BUT, I'm not going to allow myself to get upset. I almost did just now - and then I remembered the new shoes I bought today! Yep yep yep! Love my new sparkly blue shoes! Yep yep yep! Thanks for thinking of us. Talk to you soon. - H > > , > > You did not tell me any of this in your email to me! Guest guest
, In the future, if Ian is sick as he was, do NOT go home after a day or two. Ian MUST stay in the hospital until he is eating as he was before he got sick. I'll bet anything that he has ketones or his blood sugar is not up where it should be. Don't get me wrong - you did what you thought was right, but take it from us old timers. These kids rarely are ready to go home as soon as you think they are. They have to be eating normally for at least 24 hours. Now you are seeing what happens when things are rushed. At least Ian has you to keep on him and to get him to drink something, anything. Dr. H. will set things straight for you. You will be so happy that she is on your side in the near future. And Ian will be okay. It just is a setback. Keep that in mind.
