Guest guest
Pam, Puttin my 2 cents in... As far as getting the EGD covered by insurance. I was lucky. In the year 2000 I had to have 4 of those suckers done within 2 months because I had a bleeding ulcer. Even though it was healed, when I needed one done for pre-op my PCP sent me to my local surgeon, and he ordered it as a follow up to last years stuff to see how my stomach was healing. As it turned out, I grew a polyp there were the ulcer had been, so there was no question as to why it was needed. But what said is right. Develope something, or if you have a good relationship with your PCP, tell him what is going on, but that you want it covered through insurance. He/she can surely help.
