Guest guest
Cathy, This sounds like hand foot and mouth disease or is it hoof and mouth disease. A friend of mine's son had it. If I remember correctly, it took a couple of weeks to go away. Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe someone else is familiar with this. I understand it is not that uncommon -- but very painful. Guest guest
I would maybe take him to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor. They have the specialized experience in this sort of thing. I'm wondering if its a virus? Like herpes simplex I? Your family is in my prayers! Guest guest
Have you tried zinc????? becoming desparate > I know I ahve written about sam's sores on his tongue over and over looking > for help but now I am totally lost. Guest guest
First : you could make the assumption that he is allergic to something . I would consider eliminating some things you are feeding him and go back to a very basic diet ...such as chicken and rice ...the one discussed in Dr Shaw's book. I would make sure no chocolate ( as this may be related to herpes virus) and maybe get rid of cashew butter. Write a food diary. Second: gastrointestinal Do you have him on a good probiotic?? Pro bio gold is the best in my opinion at Kirkmans. Want to work up to two caps per day (if your child is 30lbs or more). They also sell colostrum which is an immune booster and an aid to gastro tract.. . Whats happening below can cause symptoms in the mouth. Third: Immune I would consider aiding his immune system with vit C, Vit A which is healing and is also used to combat measles--I would consider this..., zinc which is needed for tissue healing and imm. sys and Lysine which is suppose to be very effective with cold sores. There is something about mouth sores that is ringing a bell with me and I need to think about it and get back to you. I would consider these things above. Unfortunately he is in pain and you need to hurry. It is going to make it harder to pin down the culprit . However if you can heal him and then add things back in slowly, you may be able to see what is doing this. Keep a diary if you can . I would focus on the immune sys if you were going to get help from a doctor. The gastro tract is also very important. i think iut could be any of the above. i really hope he gets better soon, poor baby. hang in there Mommy. I get cold sores and canker sores and would expect it to go away in 10 days. they could be opening and causing new sores but that is why I would work on the immune sys as you simultaneously work on that gut and diet culprits. good luck, Re: becoming desparate > about three weeks > > >
Guest guest
Hope nobody minds if I add in here. We use Lysine for cold sores around here too with excellent results. -Meggie > Third: Immune > I would consider aiding his immune system with vit C, Vit A which is healing > and is also used to combat measles--I would consider this..., zinc which is > needed for tissue healing and imm. sys and Lysine which is suppose to be > very effective with cold sores. > > you simultaneously work on that gut and diet culprits. > good luck, > ----- Original Message -----
Guest guest
Could it be thrush? My friend has it and symptoms sound similar? treated with nystatin (?) becoming desparate > I know I ahve written about sam's sores on his tongue over and over looking > for help but now I am totally lost. Guest guest
Could they be cancur sores? If so they are a virus that anyone can get. A friends NT kid had them so bad last year that he couldn't swallow. They were down his throst and up his nose. They have to run their course. But you should be able to get a pain killer for him in the mean time. Valeri Re: becoming desparate I would maybe take him to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor.
