Mark your calendars for what promises to be an Awesome April as April is Sarcoidosis Awareness Month! We have planned exciting events to share with Sarcoidosis patients, family and friends. The public is also invited to hear the definition of what a long word like Sarcoidosis is. We encourage you to bring your family and support networks as we have found that family members will often attend events other than support group meetings as they are perceived as being less intimidating than regular support group meetings. This would be a great time for your family and friends to learn firsthand about not only what Sarcoidosis is but how it feels to live with Sarcoidosis. Sometimes hearing the stories of others who have Sarcoidosis opens the eyes of those we love as to the physical and emotional experience a sarcoidosis patient goes through. For your review I am listing more detailed information about our April 23, 2011 Sarcoidosis event:

On Saturday, April 23rd, we will be hosting a Sarcoidosis Awareness Forum called a "Sip and Chat" that will feature an educational forum and Sarcoidosis Panel to answer questions that our guests may have about Sarcoidosis. Wolf, MD, from the Indiana School of Medicine will be speaking on the topic of "Sarcoidosis What Is It?" as we want to educate and promote greater awareness of Sarcoidosis. Joining Dr. Wolf will be a patient panel to answer questions that people might have about what it's like living Sarcoidosis.

The Sarcoidosis Awareness Forum will also feature Inspirational Author Leon who will be speaking about his book "One Step Away" that chronicles his spiritual journey, living and coping with Cardiac Sarcoidosis. He will also have his book "One Step Away" available for purchase. I have spoken to on numerous occasions and I know that you will leave encouraged and uplifted after hearing his message of love, peace and spiritual healing.
