Guest guest
Hi Tammy, , too, had numerous ear infections. He was referred to an ENT last Oct. He had tubes placed at the end of January. Since then, he's had several ear infections. You can tell he has one, when there is thick yellow fluid/pus draining out of his ears. However, he no longer seems to run a fever, and he doesn't experience the pain that he used to. We were also told that this would help protect his hearing. Guest guest
I want to thank everyone for your responses to having so many ear infections. I have decided to find an ENT. I think it will probably be the best thing to do for her right now. I will let you know what happens. Thank you, Tammy pcpets wrote: Hi Tammy, , too, had numerous ear infections. Guest guest
Hi Tammy, Did have a fundo done when her tube was placed?? And is she on any reflux meds?? had a fundo, and is on both a PPI (Prevacid) and an H2A (Zantac), but is STILL refluxing. Dr H counted 6 times in 10 minutes at the convention last year! The Pulmonologist, and the ENT think that this is one of the major causes for all his sinus, ear, and lung infections! We did take him to an Allergist/Immunologist. They tested him for 20 most common allergens, and all the tests came back negative. This really surprised us, as allergies run rampant on BOTH sides of his family! Guest guest
Pat, did have a fundo done when her tube was placed. She is also on Prevacid 15mg and Reglan 1ml. As long as she takes the Prevacid she doesn't reflux (as often). Before Prevacid she refluxed at least 5-6x a day. She does have a really bad gag reflex, which makes her throw up a lot easier. Also, when she gets congested (which is pretty often) she tends to reflux more. I've heard that reflux can cause the ear infections among other things. Do you put on a feeding pump at night. Which one do you use and how do you keep his tube in. We use the Kangaroo 324 and use tegaderm to tape down the tubings at night. Guest guest
Hey Tammy, is continuously tube fed, 100%, all day and night long. We tape his tube to the front of his diaper, so that there is no way he can pull on the button at all. It works well for us now, but I have no idea how we're going to secure the tube when he's finally potty trained. is allergic to adhesive. He gets a bubbly rash anywhere it touches his skin, and when you pull the tape off, his skin comes off with it! uses the Zevex Enteralite Pump. We LOVE it!! He was on the Kangaroo " Pet " for several months, and we all thought we would go insane. The Pet did nothing BUT alarm. The Zevex doesn't impede 's movement in the least. He wears it in a small backpack (it's actually a converted camera case) during the day, and I attach it to his toddler bed during the night.
