The P portion is especially problematic and is a medically acknowledged factor for neurological injury in many children. Also, I have heard that once the child is a year old, the seriousness of contracting natural D and P is very low, meaning that they are not nearly so severe as if contracted when younger. So if you choose to waive DTaP entirely, the risks from possible contracting the diseases is much less now that your child is almost a year old. And if your child receives an injury which would indicate a possible tetanus threat, you can always get the T vax at the time of the injury. Here is my entire vaccine opinion and recommendations. http://home.pacbell.net/cscomp/myvaxopn.htm Dana
Guest guest
I don't know that my daughter's Autism is related to vaccines or not. All I know is she was different from an early age which does coincide with Hib and DTaP vaccines. Things got worse between the ages of 14 months (MMR) until we started the diet. My son also had similar symptoms but not to the extreme as our daughter. Our son is not diagnosed but we are having some problems with him like social skills, some cognitive skills and speech. So I wonder there too. I stopped my youngiest daughter's vaccines ( I didn't stop I took a break)at 1 year. Her development has been strangely different and normal than either one of her sibs. I can't help but to wonder. I also found once Beth ( youngiest) was allergic to milk - we removed milk as a formula substitute and used a soy substitute. I am not anti vaccine. There is lots of great vax info. out there and I think everyone needs to read the issues. If you haven't had a chance to look please do. I now however do not agree with the triple vax shots or giving multiple vax in one visit or when kids are sick or even have the sniffles. Then there's the mercury issue. Beth is still young and we may not know if we have dodge this illness for her for a couple years yet. However I can't look at my 3 kids when they play together but are developmentally very different and not wonder if our healthcare system did them an injustice.
