Alyssa, I have not really wanted to post because I don't feel that great.

However, I am starting to feel a little better. As for your question about

" thinking surgery, " well I am still focused on it because I have had such

constant digestion problems. It was not until about a week ago that I could

really eat. I haven't wanted to eat and everything made me sick just to

smell it. I have not really barfed just repulsed. After saying all of this

I do have to add that I had more surgery than most. In addition to

everything else, I had a hysterectomy. I think that I am recovering a little

slower than most because of this. The doc also says I am anemic so all these

things contribute. The good news is that I have had very little pain. I

have had some soreness but that is all. As you read the posts it becomes

obvious that everyone has a different experience.

Wishing you the best

Sheryle

Alyssa:

I'm a recent post-op--I'll be 8 weeks out this coming Wed. 11/28. For

the 1st 3 weeks at home, I was fixated on measuring and weighing all

my food and liquids as well as measuring and weighing myself! The last

5 weeks, especially after I went back to work, I have completely

forgotten I've even had surgery except when somebody asks what I did

on vacation! I've gotten into routines about when to eat and how much.

Fortunately, I don't seem to have any food intolerances or nausea. I

do weigh myself daily. I've been on a plateau the past week, which is

annoying, but, unlike other diets, I know it will eventually move

downward again. This surgery has removed alot of stress from my life,

and it will do the same for you. Good luck!

Down 33 lbs and much less stressed in the last 8 weeks

Those of you who are post-ops, are you still living t his

Alyssa,

Im back to living now......this group is wonderful for sharing our journies

but once we heal we dont dwell here like we did before. We post and read

the others posts and from time to time ask questions that might come up for

example finding you get heartburn after surgery when you didnt have it

before and trying to find answers here before contacting a doctor about it

but thats about the extent of living the surgery after the fact.....

Trust me......life becomes wonderful as the pounds peel off!

Alyssa,

I felt slow and crickety for a month (have you seen the movie called Go! ?) Once

that month was over I was like that I have not stopped I am all over the place I

spend very little time in my house so much so that most messages on my answer

machine are the following " you are never home where are you, you are never here

when I call " There is to damn much going on in the world for me to be home...I

went window shopping today which is something I would have never done because

lets be honest there were only two stores that I fit into and hell you see it

once you have seen it a million times...So there I am off to window shopping I

stopped off at the Ann loft and tried on a pair of size 14 and guess what

they FIT and they fit baggy I was going on a size 12 but my sister was no where

in sight to get me a pair but damn it I fit into a 14 I can shop at Ann

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if I could just kick this DAMN plateau

*sigh*

Hi Alyssa !

I have got to tell you that at nine months out since my surgery there are

actually days when I do not even think about the fact that I had surgery!!

It will always be a big part of my life, heck it gave me my life back, but I

no longer obsess about it or think about it all the time. If I didn't read

this list daily it would cross my mind very little. But then I would miss

everyone here and I feel in some small way I can repay the good Lord for

giving me this new lease on life by trying to help others going thru it. You

weill be so busy enjoying all the things you have not done in years that you

will not sit around thinking about DS! I promise !!!!

Hi Alyssa -

I definitely fall into the " back to living " category. It does take a while,

though. For me it was about 5-6 weeks before I stopped worrying about

surgery stuff and realized that it was okay to focus on normal, everyday

living.
