Oh Jodi, that is horrible. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

I'm leaving work today at 2 for Daisy's at 3 in Boonton, but I could always

leave earlier if you want me to swing by your house to check on him.

I take back what I posted earlier. Things are worse now than they

have been in the 4 weeks Max has been sick and hiccuping.

Now Max cannot keep any food down. He tried to eat lunch, it came

back up, so we had him sleep for the rest of the afternoon. At 7 I

called him down to dinner and he began to eat. He suddenly ran away

from the table and vomited up everything. We had him wait a little

while and he tried again. Everything came up again.

Now we have told him to take a break for a longer period of time.

He checked his ketones and they are negative so far. But if this

continues, then by the morning he will start to spill them. I know

the drill. If it continues, then he will be in the hospital and on

gut rest. This has been going on for so long that they may even put

in a picc line so he can just go home and take things more slowly.

I am so frustrated and upset. I just knew it was going to get to

this point. And I'm scared. No one can tell us why this is

happening. I know that it is psychogenic at this point. There has

to be a component to it now.

Doesn't this family ever get a break? And who in the world is going

to help us? No one seems to want to at this point, or no one has

answers or a plan.

OH Jodi

I am so so sorry. This is just not fair. Poor you and poor Max. As I

mentioned in my email to you there is a gremlin that has stolen my

emails all weekend (and I know who!! GRRR) and I didn't see this. I

had to come over to the Yahoo site to find it.

OK I am going to invoke some heavy duty prayers for you guys. We have

in the Cathloic faith something called a Novena. It's nine days of

prayer for special circumstances. I would say you guys qualify.

Just know that you are not alone and we are here. Dump on us, cry

with us, scream with us if you need to. Poor Max. The kid must be

heartbroken.

Take care of you Jodi, go for the walks or get on the glider (now

that our nice weather seems to be disappearing!!)

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys.

Jodi,

Hey. I can't believe this. Poor Max....and you! SO, how is he

today? Has hebeen able to eat. He must be doing fairly well since I

have seen you are at school and I haven't heard anything on the

contrary. I sure hope you guys don't end up back in the hospital.

PLease keep us updated and give us one when you get a chance this

evening. I hope you guys can get some help in figuring out what is

causing all this. Are you getting ahold of Dr H again?

Hope all gets better soon,

Jodi R.

Jodi - Oh - I'm so sorry - I will help you. What can I do? I'm

really good at getting what I need! You tell me and I'm there.

What about writing some letters and demanding some answers? It

always helps to put it down on paper (like journaling) but mostly -

it will let the physicians know that you are documenting things,

it's in writing and that you aren't going to let this slip by. That

you want answers. Have you also considered getting in touch with

some other GI physicians that might be able to refer you to some top-

notch specialists? Such as the Mayo Clinic for example? Just a

thought.

I can't imagine having to deal with this for the length of time that

you have. There is always hope. We are here for you. Any time -

any day. Call us for anything.
