Guest guest
Hey Chrissy. How is Maddy doing now? Haven't heard from you so I hope she is okay. Please let us know what is going on. That is weird about her sugar being 75 right after the TPN. But, can't it drop pretty quickly, especially if they are sick. And, you know Maddy. She never goes by the book! I hope everything is okay. Tell us what you find out about her blood sugar being that low after TPN. Curious. Jodi R. > > Well we had a week without any problems. > Today Maddy woke up complaining of belly pain and vomitted twice. Her sugar > is 75! And we have tried offering her everything but she won't eat or drink. > As soon as she urinates I will check for keytones and if she has any then I > guess we will be off to the ER. The worst part is I had checked her sugar only > a 1/2 hour after comming off her TPN and when she is on the TPN she gets 20% > dextrose so there is no way her sugar should be that low?? Any suggestions? > Chrissy > > >
Guest guest
I recieved an email from Dr. H and she thinks that Maddy's G tube is causing an obstruction in her belly and tahts what keeps making her sick and y she won't eat. The only problem wit the gel and iceing is she will gag untill she vomits UGHHH GIRLS LOL Chrissy
Guest guest
, Well I made Speghetti tonight so we will see if she eats, I may call my husband and ask him to bring home some popcicles or even icecream since she loves that so much. GREAT IDEA Thanks Chrissy
Guest guest
Chrissy - oh brother. I'm sorry. It was suggested by Jodi the glucose gel in the cheek. While I was in with Ian the nurses talked about cake frosting in the cheek. I hope you don't have to go through the hospital thing again. Keep us posted. - H > > Well we had a week without any problems. > Today Maddy woke up complaining of belly pain and vomitted twice. Her sugar > is 75! Guest guest
Chrissy - will she gag? Well that stinks! And here I thought it was such a great idea. I've been having problems with Ian this afternoon too eating and drinking. What does Dr. H think you should do at this point? What about a lollypop, or popscicle? Just trying to help. We gave Ian one at dinner and he only took like three bites! These kids - I tell ya. This is my first experience with Ian not taking fluids at least - I mean - I've seen him not eat - but, not drink is whole new issue for me. I wish there was some other good advice I could suggest for you. Let me know what's happening and keep us posted. Okay? Thinking of you lot's. Hugs. - H > > I recieved an email from Dr. H and she thinks that Maddy's G tube is causing > an obstruction in her belly and tahts what keeps making her sick and y she > won't eat. > The only problem wit the gel and iceing is she will gag untill she vomits > UGHHH GIRLS LOL > Chrissy > > >
