Guest guest
Marty, That's wonderful!! I plan to reward myself with official horseback riding lessons (I've ridden, but never taken lessons) once I get down to below 250 or so. It depends on the weight limit of the stables and the size of the horses. Anita 11/08/01 Dr Keshishian 11/08/01 320lbs 12/16/01 290lbs > It's 5 months and 3 days post-op. I'm down 90 lb. Guest guest
Good luck to you, Anita. I can't tell you the peace of mind you gain when you ride through the woods with only the sound of the horses' hoofs crunching through the leaves. Cheaper and more restorative than any session with a shrink! Marcia Re: and the horse didn't grunt! Marty, That's wonderful!! Guest guest
Hey " Mustang Marcia,: I got a real kick out your post because I DO have a mustang and he would grunt whenever I would get on him. I finally decided to do him and myself a favor and not ride him until I weigh a lot less - hopefully after DS surgery! Anyway, congrats on your terrific weight loss and keep up the riding. Blessings, Sue Everett PS: I am also glad to know that it's OK to go horeback riding after the DS, since I had worried about the effect all that bouncing would have on the rearranged plumbing! > It's 5 months and 3 days post-op. Guest guest
Thanks for the good words, Sue and Theresa. As I said, it's been 5 months and, to be honest, I didn't let the horse go too fast, not beyond a fast trot. It's the first time I've ridden since my own horse passed, and I wasn't too sure how he'd (or for that matter, how I) would react. In fact, he was a bit barn sour, but I sat him. Don't seem to have lost my seat (other than multo inches) or hands in all the years of hiatus! Looks like I'm going to be doing a lot more riding in the spring (used to ride in -10 degree weather; but we were YOUNG, and crazy, and had a lot more fat to keep me warm!)
