Guest guest
Why should a DS'er be made to feel the same way if they subscribe to an RNY list? I don't understand. It reminds me of the superbowl. Can anyone enlighten me?>>>>> Jean, You made a valid point however this does happen to be a DS list and if someone is interested in the RNY they dont come here for support. I have been on a list that was basically all RNY and when they found out I was a DS post op they kicked me off! Becuz of that I do not frequent RNY lists anymore. I think a lot of it has to do with word choices. Some people feel strongly that they found the right solution for themselves, and in their zeal to explain their own mindset, tact can go out the window. Tactlessness of course leads to people being offended, and then it's a free-for-all of offense/defense and finally, 'Hey, now I just plain don't like you and won't be nice to you regardless!' LOL. At some point, productive dialogue gets lost, which is a pity.
Guest guest
I joined two RNY lists and each time I have posted about My DS experience I have heard " you took the easy way out " why would you pick a surgery that allowed you to eat fats and sugars......The RNY'ers that I have spoken to think that dumping is GOOD.....I view dumping as negative.....RNY'ers feel that they failed the surgery....I view the surgery as failing them.....different ideologies.....I think the DS is great....But I am sure that something better will come along in 10 years or so....RNY'ers say the RNY is the gold standard nothing better.....Me...I respect those the RNY I didnt have the balls to make such a drastic change to my life......
