Sorry if this is late but I really liked what Tina

from Barrie, ON had to say about finding a supportive

doctor and all (good luck with finding a DAN doctor in

Canada - they are there but BUSY). I am " lucky "

enough to have a family GP who is willing to listen to

what I have to say and then give me his point of view

(which admittedly, is usually against the

" alternative " practices). End result though, is that

he has seen the changes in my 4 year old son and has

been handed enough printouts from the wonderful people

who support us here and FEAT that I suppose I finally

beat him over the head enough that while he still says

he doesn't believe it, he at least supports what I ask

for and properly cares for my son. Of course, it

probably didn't hurt that I keep telling him he is

driving me crazy ;-)!

So, between all of us, I think we provide more

encouragement to help our kids get well and should pat

ourselves on the back for keeping ourselves informed

and being more educated than these doctors in most

cases. I have been fortunate enough too, to make

friends here that are more than happy to order up

items I cannot get in Canada (never mind the province

- Newfoundland) when I send them the money.

So, thank you for all the help so far. My kid has

gone from totally non-verbal in November 2000 to now

using " I want... " and being academically at the head

of his preschool class (he is the only one who can

print his entire alphabet and approximately 20 words

now - not necessarily on demand but who cares at the

moment). About a week ago, he finally called out

Mommy to get my attention when I was driving to the

store. I could just pass out. Sorry for rambling but

all this is a result of diet and supplements and 2

injections of secretin.

Nicola...

I just wanted to say congratulations of the successes you are having... I

know they are huge to you and that often doesnt get recognized by the outside

world but Im sure most of us know how important they truely are and recognize

them as such.
