Thanks for replying to my mail. :-) JM wears the day brace only on his affected foot. He wears it almost the whole day taking it off only during baths. :-) wrote: Hi . I am not familiar with a day brace--although I'm sure others here are. For those of us not " in the know " , can you explain what it looks like and how much time JM is spending in it? To prevent the clubbed foot (or feet) from relapsing after it has been corrected in casting, it has to be held in a certain position. The shoes on a bar do this. With out the bar, the clubbed foot is free to move around thus is it necessary to anchor it to the other foot to prevent that sort of movement. > > Does that make sense? > > ee > Mother of 3 Clubfooted Sons: > - Bilateral Club Feet April 1998 > Everett - Bilateral Club Feet September 2003 > Garrison - Bilateral Club Feet March 2006 > > Visit us on the Web! > www.WildlifeRevivalTaxidermy.com > Brace > > hi everyone.. > > i would like to ask you guys for the principle behind the mitchell brace bar... > in unilateral cf, why should the unaffected foot be braced also? why is there a bar? > will appreciate your reply. > thanks! > > cynthia > jm- ucf > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Get on board.
