Guest guest
.. Give her a huge hug from Liane, & tell her to look on the bright side.. feeding tube means crushed or liquid vites that you don't have to taste.. if she bought that predigested protein, she can use it without having to taste it, and water- she'll finally be able to slide in enough water! Otherwise.. tell her I love her & am swingin the fat tomcat for her speedy recovery... and thank you SO MUCH for posting the update. Hugs, Liane > hi everyone .. thomas here .. theresa's husband ..she went in to have > that opening out of her stomache expanded today ... afterward she was > in a great deal of pain .. then went and did a leak test ... it > seemed the stretching caused a small leak ... they called jossart and > she was in surgery at six pm .. she had to have an open to get in > well the doc said there was a rush of air when he opened her and then > he tested with air and tested blue dye and tested with blue dye again > and then a third time.. but the leak seemed to have closed but he > reinforced the entire area with body glue anyway ..after surgery she > had a gastric tube up her nose .. and dr jossart has put in a feeding > tube in her side and she had the drain lines out of the other side.. > n.. theresa well have to be fed thru the tube for about a month ... > anyway ..needless to say she is not a happy camper.. thats about > it .. she is in icu for now .. we will see what happens tomorrow..... > i will fill you all in when next i get a chance. Guest guest
, Thank you for letting us know. Will you please tell Theresa that I got the very sweet Christmas email that she sent me, and that it meant so much to me? I was so hoping that she would breeze through this procedure and be back and feeling better in no time. What a bummer!!! From the short time I've known Theresa online, I think it's safe to predict that she will choose an optimistic viewpoint, and she'll muddle through and make the best of everything -- pretty soon it'll all be a distant memory, and she'll be feeling better than EVER! I know that Dr. Jossart must feel awful about this! But I'm sure that everything he did was the best for her! Please give her a big Christmas hug for me, and let her know that I'm thinking of her! > theresa test > > > hi everyone .. thomas here .. theresa's husband ..she went in to have > that opening out of her stomache expanded today ... afterward she was > in a great deal of pain .. then went and did a leak test ... it > seemed the stretching caused a small leak ... they called jossart and > she was in surgery at six pm .. she had to have an open to get in > well the doc said there was a rush of air when he opened her and then > he tested with air and tested blue dye and tested with blue dye again > and then a third time.. but the leak seemed to have closed but he > reinforced the entire area with body glue anyway ..after surgery she > had a gastric tube up her nose .. and dr jossart has put in a feeding > tube in her side and she had the drain lines out of the other side.. > n.. theresa well have to be fed thru the tube for about a month ... > anyway ..needless to say she is not a happy camper.. thats about > it .. she is in icu for now .. we will see what happens tomorrow..... > i will fill you all in when next i get a chance. > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >
Guest guest
, This is Steve, one of the Boob Fairy's Boob Apprentices. Theresa will understand . . . Please tell her to ask for carnitas through the feeding tube. Of course, she won't get them, but why not ask? Seriously (and that's hard to do), I wish her an uneventful journey through the feeding tube ordeal and a rapid return to fighting trim. I wish you a peaceful holiday season in the knowledge that the big problems are behind you both. I've seen your pictures together in the archives, and you make a beautiful couple. Best, Steve --

Guest guest
Hello fellow haggis aficionado - Please give Theresa my best and convey my wishes to her for a speedy recovery and return to the world of people who actually eat. It didn't sound like eating was a pleasant event for the past days anyway. At least she'll be getting some nourishment, even if without the enjoyment. Guest guest
, Thank you for updating us! I'm glad the leak closed, but sorry about everything else she's going through! Why did Dr J say she has to be fed by tube for a month ? Does he think that's how long it will take the anastomoses to heal ? Is she going to have to stay in the hospital for a month ? I will keep her in my prayers for a speedy recovery and hope that month time frame gets shortened! Make sure she lets them know that her pain isn't being controlled so they can increase or change the meds if needed! *hugs* Anita 11/08/01 Dr Keshishian > > > > hi everyone .. thomas here .. theresa's husband ..she went in to > have > > that opening out of her stomache expanded today ... afterward she > was > > in a great deal of pain .. then went and did a leak test ... it > > seemed the stretching caused a small leak ... they called jossart > and > > she was in surgery at six pm .. she had to have an open to get in > > well the doc said there was a rush of air when he opened her and > then > > he tested with air and tested blue dye and tested with blue dye > again > > and then a third time.. but the leak seemed to have closed but he > > reinforced the entire area with body glue anyway ..after surgery > she > > had a gastric tube up her nose .. and dr jossart has put in a > feeding > > tube in her side and she had the drain lines out of the other > side.. > > n.. theresa well have to be fed thru the tube for about a month ... > > anyway ..needless to say she is not a happy camper.. thats about > > it .. she is in icu for now .. we will see what happens > tomorrow..... > > i will fill you all in when next i get a chance.
