Guest guest
good luck!!!!!! OT-'s surgery Hi All- Just wanted to let you guys know that I will be MIA for the next couple of days. My sister is graduating from College this weekend as well as will be having hand surgery on Monday. They will be extending his right thumb to give him a more effective pincer grasp-it was amputated at the joint at birth by an amniotic band. The procedure should last no longer than an hour and we love his doctor as he did 's first surgery a year ago. Worse thing is that will be in an arm cast from shoulder to thumb for 3 weeks-all to hold a tiny pin in place on his thumb!! Not only his is FAB a weapon at night, now he will have a heavy duty reinforced arm to throw around. Take care and I will let you all know how it went on Tuesday when I return to cyber- land! Guest guest
Kathleen- I will be thinking you and ! I know how well they can use their arms as weapons. When was in the hospital they had to tape his iv on, so he looked like he has a club for a hand! He thought it was the neatest thing to swing it around and bonk people. All I can say is watch out! 11/19/04 leenernd wrote: Hi All- Just wanted to let you guys know that I will be MIA for the next couple of days. Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, We'll be thinking of you and . I have a friend whose son is now 5 and has a similar situation with his thumb. Her son is amazing as he can do anything with that hand. Take care and hope all goes well on Monday. Enjoy the graduation. Guest guest
I will be thinking of you and !!! I hope the surgery is a great success, and I hope the cast isn't too much of a bother. It sure sounds like it'll be tough for the little guy, though, but hopefully those three weeks go smoothly.
