Guest guest
My eldest is suspect for MS, hasn't found the right facility for all the testing yet, but is headed that way. My question is: one of the doctors who believe she has MS suggested this diet to help with the symptoms. Has anyone heard of this? Guest guest
Thank you for this. I told her to ask about chelation- just because it seems to me that if the diet is suggested that chelation should be considered. A counselor ,that my daughter has been befriended by, said that this diet has done wonders for her husband, who has MS. Lolita >I've seen a lot of information about mercury toxicity/chelation and the MS >connection, but not the diet.
Guest guest
Thank you for this. I'm trying to find all I can about this. I don't think there's any research on it's effectiveness but my >experience has been that many people with autoimmune disorders think they >see some help from avoiding gluten...and perhaps casein. Guest guest
Thank you, . Also for the suggestion of Omega 3 and evening primrose. Lolita >I worked with a woman several years ago with MS who used the GFCF diet to >lessen her MS symptoms--she particularly avoided certain fats. She also took >Omega 3 oil and evening primrose oil, and she's doing well. Good luck....
Guest guest
Yes, Marilyn, this is helpful. I haven't done a lot of research on MS yet, and she hasn't gone through all the testing, so I don't know what we're in for. Every suggestion is going to be saved and pulled out when we know what we're dealing with. But she's had three different doctors say that they believe she has MS, I think,or fear, they may be right. One of these doctors is trying to get the right facility to have the tests run, since like so many of these conditions, MS dx can be missed. Lolita >It was not a decision she made lightly, as her physical disabilities make >it very difficult for her to shop & cook, but she feels that it has been >well worth the effort, even though, as she will be the first to admit, she >longs to be able to throw some junk food straight from the freezer in to >the microwave. >She did a lot of reading on the various MS sites before she made the >decision to try the diet, what she read, convinced it was worth ago. >Hope that is of some help. Guest guest
Yes, I'm going to be pushing chelation big time. I've heard some are more gf than cf, and some more cf than gf. I wonder why. Wished I had seen Montels show. He's usually pretty good with these type shows. Lolita >Mercury chelation also helps MS greatly. My Godmother went through >chelation many years ago, way befor was even born. She lives in >Lafeyette and Dr. Cave was her Dr. She was wheelchair bound before >chelation, and still is, but is so much better functioning. She couldn't >lift her fork to feed herself prior. This is what Montel discussed >on his show a few months back. She is diet restricted as well, but mainly >all dairy.

(Apparently, his family hid the diagnosis from him, and there was a delay of one or more years before he found out what he had, did research, and started the diet.)
