Guest guest
I meant to add, does anyone have the email address for Markell, specifically the guy who is " in charge? " Thanks! > > My son , just graduated from 23/7 in the DBB. He is unilateral > club foot on the left and metarasal adductus on the right. The right > isn't straight enough, almost, but not quite. Guest guest
Ask Dr.Herzenberg if he can wear a normal high top shoe on the wrong foot. I have heard that is considered as good as reverse last shoes but I do not know this for certain. Ask Dr. H., if they don't make his size what else could you do? Guest guest
His email address is on this page in a neat little box under where a picture would be! http://profiles.yahoo.com/jaymar1955 > > > > My son , just graduated from 23/7 in the DBB. Guest guest
That is a good idea, I will ask Dr. H. Since the open-toed reverse last come in 's size, our option, according to the shoe store guy, is to just take the shoes off the foot plate during the day. is working on walking and I am wondering if they will offer the same kind of support as the closed-toe shoes that look like the high top baby shoes, if that makes sense. > >My son , just graduated from 23/7 in the DBB. Guest guest
ummmm... the sole does not flex in the Markells. I for one would not have my child wear them to walk in. They'd slip all around on the floor too. mmmmm... no thank you. Good idea though, that is if it was practical. Personally I'm not terribly worried about support and my daughter never wore any high top shoes during her off time. She's a GIRL!!!! umm... she wants pretty shoes (and even back then, she wanted pretty shoes!) and we just went with the soft soled shoes like Robeez when she didn't wear her FAB. Dr. Ponseti does not necessarily recommend shoes at all, barefoot or barefoot like is just fine (in fact good). So perhaps it may not be that he really needs super supportive shoes anyway? Is the MTA foot really needing bracing or orthotics? It is well known that MTA usually corrects itself and ever since Dr. Ponseti's paper in the 70's that said as much was published docs have told parents it will go away on it's own in time. Just wondering how necessary it is to have him in orthotics anyway... I'm sure Dr. H. has a good reason so I would not necessarily think to second guess him but it may be a question worth asking... Guest guest
I don't know that the closed toe shoes would be any less slippery than the ones that are attatched to the bar. I remember my dad having to scuff up my Sunday shoes or put masking tape on the bottom to keep me from slipping. I had never planned for to wear anything other than soft shoes like Robeez for as long as he can and Dr. Herzenberg says barefoot is best, too, but this other issue has risen with his MTA foot. That foot was stiffer than the normal MTA foot and still looks a little crooked whereas his club foot looks absolutely perfect. I trust Dr. H with this - he has seen more feet than me. I adid ask how long he thought we would need these shoes and he said maybe just the next three months. > > > >My son , just graduated from 23/7 in the DBB.
