Guest guest
Hi all, saw Dr H on Wednesday. This was our best visit ever!!! First, we only waited 45 minutes to see her. If it was like this every visit we would be thrilled!! Second, in the last 3 months gains 5.5 POUNDS!!! is now officially off all daytime bolus feeds. As a matter of fact, Dr H wants us to weigh at home. She said if he continues to gain at this rate, we should call her and we will start reducing his nighttime feeds as well. She said that we are well on our way to being able to start weaning him off his pump. Third, he grew another inch. He is currently growing at a rate of 4 inches per year. Four, we had Becca with us. Usually Dr H complains about Becca's weight. This time she was complimentary. Said the Becca grew and slimmed down. The only downside was that Dr H notice some skin tags on my neck and said that I am probably insulin resistent. She wants to do the OGTT test on me when she does 's (but I don't know when that is going to be). All of this means that we don't have to deal with the school nurse on a daily basis when he starts kindergarten in September. Just wanted to share GOOD news for a change. Guest guest
Judith, That is wonderful news about - and ! It's nice to read about something good on a dreary day like this. And what a relief not to have to worry about daytime bolus feedings. Your little boy is growing up! Don't worry too much about the skin tags. I have them, too, but I don't have insulin resistance. Come to think of it, I better make an appointment to have them removed before I take Max to see her on October 10 or she will get on my case, too! But at least I can tell her that I've already been tested. Jodi Z
Guest guest
Hi Judith, Congratulations are definitely in order for . We had our appt that day too. It went well also, though he didn't grow that much from last visit. Dr. H advised Jordan take tums to increase his calcium intake since he doesn't drink milk and wrote a order for vitamin D drops which was not covered by my insurance and is VERY expensive - $99 for a 60ml bottle which the pharmacy got for me cheaper than usual. Have you scheduled 's next appointment in Nov yet? Jordan is scheduled to do OGTT in Nov. mom to Jordan RSS 37 lbs 41in G tube, GH, Tums, Vit D and 9 weeks
