Guest guest
Hello, I have 2 children & one more on the way, & my oldest is 7 yrs old & autistic. We suspect he is sensitive to gluten & casein but have not attempted the diet yet. I was wondering if I could ask some questions of anyone who can help with the following: -How do we know if the diet would be beneficial for him; is there a blood test or some other test through a nutritionist? -He is a very picky eater, stubborn, & will not eat something unappealing to him just because he's hungry. I'm afraid he'll starve himself rather than eat many of the gf/cf foods. How does one effectively go about this transition with a picky eater & keep him from losing weight & getting malnourished? -Is it possible to maintain this diet with others in the household who are eating gluten & casein (other children etc)? -Is it an expensive diet to maintain (especially with others eating healthy foods but not gf/cf foods)? I'm trying to find out what I'm getting into & if I will be able to transition & maintain this diet for him before jumping right in. I appreciate any info & advice offered! Thank you in advance, Michele
