Guest guest
I found a lot of good results with Boppy noggin nest my daughter is three months old... There is also a mimos pillow http://www.plagiocephalyflathead.com/baby_pillow.php --- On Thu, 1/27/11, bellandboo2 <jessileigh06@...> wrote:From: bellandboo2 <jessileigh06@...>Subject: Need repositioning advicePlagiocephaly Date: Thursday, January 27, 2011, 2:47 AM We're just starting on our plagio journey. So relieved to find mom's with experience! My lo is 3 months old. We have our first consult at the Oakbrook Cranial Tech office next week and we are scheduled with a pediatric neuro surgeon in 3 weeks. In the mean time, we are repositioning like crazy! Does anyone have advice for this? Are there any sleep positioners that work? I tried the wedges and my son was able to grab a wedge and get it in his mouth. I'm not comfortable with that for nighttime sleep. Thanks everyone!
Guest guest
Do you have your daughter sleep at night in the noggin nest? Nighttime is our biggest struggle. Thanks for your response!! Guest guest
It isn't easy! We used the boppy noggin nest in any kind of bouncy chair or car seat and a sleep positioner ONLY during daytime naps. We did not have anything in the crib at night, but did lots of head turning. Our baby was diagnosed with severe plagio at 2 months old and we did repositioning for three months (until we finally gave in to the band, and fyi, I am totally happy we did). BUT, our baby had left torticollis. What seemd to work best for us was doing the neck stretches three times per day to our baby to help eliminate the torticollis so he didn't constantly favor that side. We hung all his mobiles in his crib on the opposite side of the flat head so he would look at them. And, we laid him tummy down on our chests a lot to help strech his neck and keep him off the back of his head. After work each evening, we took turns in shifts, first on daddy's chest, then on mine. Our little one hated tummy time so getting him to nap on our chest was the best way to keep him off his back and still get in some awesome neck stretches. We tried our best and got him from 18mm down to 13mm over a three month period. At 5 months old he was still at 13mm so we opted for the starband and now he has a perfectly shaped head!! His ears are still offset but that's okay. He's perfect in every other way. Good luck! > > From: bellandboo2 <jessileigh06@...> > Subject: Need repositioning advice > Plagiocephaly > Date: Thursday, January 27, 2011, 2:47 AM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > We're just starting on our plagio journey.
