Guest guest
Hi , Glad that you got the good news (after your doc had you all worried). I am not familiar with the Shrine stuff as I am in Canada and didn't use them. I know that as far as Ponseti doctor's go, there are a few good ones practicing at Shriner's hospitals. Which one will you be looking at going to? & Grace > > We received the results of our amnio today and all was normal! Guest guest
Hi - My daughter Kayleigh receives her treatment through the Shrine Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah... Her application process what somewhat backwards so I beleive it took a little while longer. She began treatment at 13 months instead of birth and we began in an outreach clinic in Denver. But as far as the application getting sent in and time of contact it only took about 4-6 weeks. This is from the time the application left my hands to getting my actual appointment date. As far as the process went, I met with Dr. Santora in Denver (Home) on a Thursday for a second opinion and we were in SLC on the following Tuesday getting recasted. From there I went to SLC every week for five weeks to get new casts. Quite a feet with a 13-14 month old! The local temple helped me with costs in order to get Kayleigh and I to SLC every week. After our initil six weeks in casts, she had the tendon release in SLC and we went back 4 weeks later (longer because of her age). We now see Dr. Santora about every 3 months either here in Denver or in SLC depending on the outreach clinics and so forth. I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions or would like additional information, please email me... jlevans13@... Congrats on the great amnio news, it sure can be a stressful time huh! When are you due and do you know the sex of the baby? Jen > > We received the results of our amnio today and all was normal! Guest guest
Hi Jen, I am due Sept. 17th and we have chosen not to know the sex until birth. I read on some website that boys are more prone to CF than girls, does anyone know if that is factual? Thanks for letting me know about your Shriner app. experience. Since it took 4-6 weeks, I'm glad to have a chance to start the process before the baby is born. > > > > We received the results of our amnio today and all was normal! Guest guest
Yes, boys are more likely to have club feet. Congrats on your great news, BTW! Guest guest
Hi , I just read your post and have input on the Shriner's experience. Our application process was approximately two weeks from the submission of the app to the appointment date. We went through Shriners in Los Angeles, CA. Good luck with everything! mommy to -J'nee, bcf, born 01.07.06, FAB 23/7 > > We received the results of our amnio today and all was normal!
